Heart Flutter
Hi All, I have what I call heart palpitations all the time. I have been checked as well. I have had these skips, palpitations last for a long as two hours and I am still here. Clearly whatever it is has not killed me. I think it has to do with anxiety. That does not mean that I don't get scared when it happens. Also, we who monitor EVERY feeling in our bodies have just gotten hyper-sensitive to all body feelings. I wish us all peace and health! I just started the program, lesson one - week one. I have high hopes!!!
It is funny all the symptoms we have in common. I used to be afraid of them too. It does help to know they are all part of the anxiety. So much that was happening to me is part of the anxiety. The heart palpatations were the scariest though. It seems to be worse right before that "time of the month." I did have them once for most of two days. I find that taking a brisk walk really helps. Maybe it is too much adreniline and the walks hellp to rid of it. usually they just come and go and last a few seconds. I am thankful for these forums where we can see that we are ok and others suffer the same symptoms. We are going to be OK!
Definitely, even I get scared sometimes when I get the heart flutters. When I get the really nasty long ones my mind sometimes thinks "This can't possibly be normal! This can't possibly be good!" but fortunately now I can calm myself down a lot better.Originally posted by DIAA:

Wow, so many replies. I have had a few skipped beats and pauses today. I try to tell myself its nothing but my first instinct it so put my hand on my neck to feel my pulse and I feel the pause and instantly I'm freaked out and that makes my heart beat fast for a bit. Hard to come down from that.
I went grocery shopping just now and my heart was beating fast. I just felt like I was rushed for some reason (anxiety coming out, I don't know?) even though I wasn't.
I also have chest pains/tightness today.
Sure makes your mind wonder.
But I was able to make about 5 trips back and forth from the car to my house bringing in heavy bags of groceries, got a lot of canned goods, and my chest pains didn't get worse, so this has to be anxiety, right?
Times like this I wish I was married to a cardiologist who could check me out the minute I have a symptom. WOuldn't that be awesome?
