Hi Abbers!

I just want to throw my two cents in here. I am so glad you told your boss about your anxiety, people ARE understanding! More so than you'd think. Work can be tricky for people with anxiety. When my anxiety was very bad, I had a hard time going to work, too. (Sometimes I still do if I have an off day, but no where near how bad it used to be)

The thing about these limitations are we give them to ourselves. We really do. The reason you feel like you aren't capable of driving to work, is because you're telling yourself you can't drive to work. And I wont say it's easy! It's very hard. When my anxiety was bad, I had a hard time going places, especially the grocery store. Now I love going to the grocery store, shopping, out to eat, etc. But for months I was telling myself I couldn't do it! Well, I felt like I wasn't able to, because I told myself that I wasn't able to. Your thoughts are so powerful.

So what to do? Drive to work. You've just gotta do it, of course using your skills. You are capable of so much, you're just not letting yourself see that potential! Show yourself who you really are. What is the worst thing that could happen?

It took me nearly a month to get over my fear of going places and going to work. I don't mean to scare you, but it does take time! It took A LOT of changing my thoughts, even when I didn't believe them. But I started to slowly believe them and I truly made myself proud with everything I was doing. Now I go anywhere! I am really happy. It's great. You can do it, show yourself you can!

I too know how that feels. Been there
Anxiety isnt what it was 20 yrs. ago,it is very well known now, much like any other disease.
I sure would confide in a boss and let them know whats going on. You might just be surprised
they might have it,their wife or other family member might have it. Its ALOT more common than you think. Other people hide it just like we do.
One thing I can tell you is that you need to push yourself to go! DONT let anxiety win. Once you push yourself a couple of times you will see that it may be a little uncomfortable but you will get through it and you will feel so good about yourself. You can do it!

Driving used to be a HUGE issue for me and Lucinda's program along with the program at www.DrivingFear.com allowed me to overcome it. In the short term maybe you can talk to your employer, but I think it's better to not work around it and go through it instead. Lucinda's program helped me with my anxiety overall and the other one was obviously much more focused on the that particular concern.

If I can do it anyone can!
