Hi there,
I have a couple of suggestions...listen to the relaxation tape before you go to bed, clear your mind as best as you can before going to sleep. When it's time to start the day, get some fresh air for at least 10 minutes and then do the breathing exercises. Try to focus on your surroundings, birds singing to the dawn and "new beginning" of the day, cars driving past, raindrops, etc. and focus on the smells, sights, and sounds, for a moment to distract yourself from your tension. It helps me when I don't want to really start the day at all. It's just appreciation of something you CAN handle, which is just "to be" without responsibility. I think I learned that in yoga.
