not feeling the support from this site!
Be sure to check back to your post periodically as many people don't post on the same day you post the question. I think the people for the most part are encouraging and supportive but I see what you mean about the posts being viewed more than they are responded to. Hang in there, give it a chance and keep posting, I've related to many of the posts on here and try to respond to those ones.
ANGELS CAN FLY BECAUSE THEY TAKE THEMSELVES LIGHTLY
Hi Canadiandricky & Monik:
I like the above also feels sorry for your disapointment with this site. I have had the odd pang of upset when I check and no one responds also however, I have to say I have never in my life had a place where you can ask questions openly and honestly and get people to read and sometimes respond with encouragement, relation and kindness.. even advice at times. I think a lot of people have a hard time navigating through the site at first and therefore seem even more disapointed at the time it takes to get around alone.. it gets easier.
For me.. I have found it useful to combine self study (books and research online) Panic to Power is a great read- reading through the history of the posts, you'd be surprised how when you need a question answered its right there already asked and answered.. the online chat is nice to go and just chat or ask someone aside to chat, making individual posts is helpful but you cant expect an answer because people do not just respond to respond on here, I think thats what makes it so honest, you respond when you feel like you can genuinely offer help, put the notification on when you post and then you know when you get responses you dont have to search through all the time.. and of course the major tool in all of this is the program and recovery and keeping an open mind to everything.. perhaps if you each can combine all of these things you will have a better overview of 'help' and if you lower your expectations (which we ALL seem to have HIGH expectations for everthing in life) you may get a whole new impression.. Just a thought
There have been days where I wonder the site just wishing I would find the magic answer to it all but I came to grips with the fact that wont happen, this disorder is the hardest thing to conquer, no doubt and we must accept the responsibility for ourselves and do what it takes for us to get through it, no one else is going to do it for us or say the magic word to make it all go away- you have the power it is just how bad you want it and how bad your willing to work for it- thats one thing, this whole ocd, anxiety, depression thing never rests, its terrible but it can be challenged and overcame, its up to you now to make it..
I hope sharing my thoughts gave you a new perspective
I wish you both all the best and I hope to see you around and giving this site another fair chance..

Like everyone, I am sorry you feel this way. I like this site, and it helps me, though it may not be for everyone. Most importantly you have to be able to help yourself and maybe not rely on the people on the internet. I get the most out of this site by reading other's post and relating to them. I felt so much better many times just by reading that other people have the same problems. Keep trying, and don't give up and maybe in the future this site will help. Good luck

Candi,
Sometimes when i feel like i'm not getting the support i need from the site i do a search on the main topic that i'm posting on. by doing the search i can read a lot of previous posts that are on the same thing i'm going through.
i have found that when i'm pitying myself it is usually my ego getting in the way.
Example, no one loves me, no one has it as bad as i do, no one understands, no one on this site feels like i do. These types of thoughts work against me and heightens my feeling of isolation which doubly impacts my anxiety.
You are not alone.
This site is a tool. And tools only work in how well we work them and if we are open to trying a new way of working them.
Keep checking back. Hang in there!

I hope you don't give up and continue with the program. This is my second week and I know I have a long way to go but I feel like just admitting that I have a problem and doing something about is a good start. I have

Hi ! I agree with the people who have replied. If I can't contribute to the subject I go on to the next subject. I am amazed at how many people have the same problems as I do! It wasn't until I came on here and saw how many people are talking back and forth! Just the fact that 1 in every 3 people will deal with anxiety and panic in their lifetime, is comforting....I am not all alone, and neither are you !! Hang in there ! We are HERE !
i have felt the same way in the past. it is all part of our anxiety syndrome...also, once you get through the program , i have been doing this for a year, you do learn to be your own safe place. Lucinda knows what she is talking about. we are responible for our own emotional well being. however, you are not alone.
take care and keep on with the program and do write and post...and i will try to do the same on a more consistent basis.

One thing I noticed was that the new users forum (where you are in with all the people starting the program same time as you) does tend to be a little slower on responses than this main section. And I've heard that if you even want faster feedback that you should go to the chatroom.
I will say though - that I truly contributed to the problem in new users, but not continuing to respond when I saw others weren't either. Several people in my group (Dec. '07) have really been active in there recently though because we realize that we all truly need each other's support.
Hang in there. This program can really help you help yourself...and with the support of others in the same boat, so to speak!
Best,
Dawn

I hope this helps....
The human mind likes logic, order, and reason. We like to deal with issues we can wrap our understanding around and come up with solutions that make sense to us. We have a tendency to think small because we are limited creatures, and we don't have the perspective to understand from God's point of view. We tend to put things in tiny, neat compartments in our minds, telling ourselves this must be right because it fits nicely there. We need to depend and trust in God to show us things in such a way that we know--with an inner security--that what has been revealed to our mind is correct. One must not allow themselves to reason with their mind, searching for logical solutions. Instead, you must say, "My trust is in the Lord, and whatever He tells me to do, I will obey."
Prayer
Dear God,thank You for loving me more than I can even comprehend. In the name of Jesus Christ, I ask You to help me love and honor You so much that when You speak, I will have only one thought in my mind, and that is to obey. Amen.
