I find the relaxation session really helps you understand how to let go of the tension in your body - sometimes it is only near the end of the session that I can let go and breathe and relax - keep practicing and it should help....
do it three times a day for a few weeks and see if anything changes.
Good luck - it will get better, give it time:)

Hi Holly I have read alot of your posts, and you and i sound so much alike but when i read this post i had to respond.I have thyroid trouble {a goiter along with low thyroid level}My throat feels like that all the time,Im on medication for it.Ive noticed it gets worse when I am stressed out, your thyroid can also make you depressed or anxious when it is off balance.I hope this is not your problem but if it is it is easily treated with medication.Good luck.
hi mrsunderstood. does the thyroid medicine help alot? well, the dr already took a blood test and it came our normal i guess but should i ask for another blood test to focus more on just the thyroid????

Could be acid reflux, try Zantac 150 and see if it gets better. If it is anxiety you seriously need to get yourself help to control all the symptoms you are having.

Hi Holly J - I had my thyroid levels checked by my doc and the results were all negative. Later, when I started seeing my Nutritionist (www.doctorsresearch.com), he found a hormone imbalance in my thyroid and began giving me healing herbs to treat my thyroid, which have made a huge difference. For my particular situation, he told me that I have too much of the hormone epinephrine (formerly known as adrenaline) and not enough norepinephrine (the hormone that lowers epinephrine). I googled anxiety and panic on the web and found information about thyroid blood tests. I read that some drs do not do extensive thyroid lab tests, they typically will do a generic, cursory test and that there are further tests that can show more results. I think the attention that I'm giving to my physical health as well as using Lucinda's program will be very helpful. I hope this is helpful for you. Take care.

Hi again Holly J - Just wanted to mention that according to my nutritionist, the thyroid plays a major role in the body's overall hormone balances, including epinephrine/norepinephrine. I'm not sure where epinephrine/norepinephrine originate from though. I'm sure that if you decide to find the right health care professional to clarify all of this, they will make much more sense of it than I can. Take care - Eileen

Hi Holly,My thyroid medicine does nothing to help with me having trouble swallowing,my dr said that it will just keep my goiter from getting any bigger. My thyroid tests came back normal for two years even though i had a goiter,it wasnt until recently that it came back a little low.I guess this is something that I will have to live with, unless they remove it someday. If your thyroid is a little off balance you will just have to take medicine for it thank goodness you dont have a goiter.I always feel like i have a lump in my throat, because I do,it is very visible, there is alot of foods that I cant eat and i cant swallow pills.I really doubt that your problem is your thyroid,it sounds like anxiety even if it is your thyroid,it is very common and very treatable.Good luck and try not to worry.
HI MY NAME IS IDALIS, AND JUST LAST WEEK I HAD AN EPISODE IN WHICH I WAS ASLEEP AND I WOKE UP OUT OF BREATH. I FELT LIKE I COULDN'T BREATH. NOW I FEEL OUT OF BREATH EVERYDAY I'M AFRAID TO GO TO SLEEP. I WAS DOING SO GOOD WITH THE PROGRAM NOW I FEEL LIKE I'M JUST WHERE I STARTED. I REALLY FEEL LIKE THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME . I JUST CAN'T CATCH MY BREATH
I had the same exact thing. One night I was eating and felt like I couldn't swallow. I worried about it so much that I put myself in and out of emergency rooms with panic attacks, worrying what was wrong with me. All the tests came back negative and I was told that stress was doing this, though I couldn't believe it. My life basically was in and out of doctors offices. I had no idea that it would cause these types of symptoms. They put me on an antidepressant and it helped me to pull myself out of that. I used the program now to help me. I think what kept me down was that I kept thinking about it and obsessing about it. I really hope you feel better and I'll send lets of good thoughts your way!
