Has anyone had problems with alcohol or addictions due to anxiety?
im new here, and i can relate a bit.i to need alcohal to lower my anxiety,or now ''needed'' since im trying to stray from it.it seemed to make the weird sensations go away, the only way i can relax with friends or anywhere anytime of the day was to be tipsy or in a 'mood'.i think possibly since it brings the true person to the surface, deep down we feel good and wanna be comfortable and alcohal brings it out.but isint the awnser.thats how i see it anyway
I love good wine but started to notice that if I had more than one glass I would get irritated, my heart rate would go up, everything bothered me, and would say some angry things. Not a good way to keep friends! I don't know your age but as we get older we metabolize alcohol slower and it stays in the liver longer. Who needs that? Especially if we are already taking meds that are being processed thru the liver. I now have one glass of good wine maybe every other week and noticed that I sleep better and don't get as irritated at everything. I'm wondering if the sugar content in wine has something to do with blood sugar levels rising and falling quickly? Hmmm - that may cause irritability.
I am 25, but that snuck up on me pretty quickly! Guess I'm getting older everyday now!
- Wine is definately my alcohol of choice as well! I have to give it up for at lease a while though, which makes me kinda sad. I feel like I'm losing a good friend (who secretly hates me). Maybe one day I can just have a glass or two but only time will tell...
not sure about you blood sugar issue, it doesn't seem like drinking as little as you're describing would hurt, but hey, don't listen to me. I'm no doctor for sure (though I self diagnose random illnesses daily)!
