Hi Fischee. I totally agree too with your accupuncurist. I don't think it's safe to have a blank mind..

I'm glad you like the "oops, I forgot...." because I had never heard of using this phrase before either! This lady does seminars on panic attacks and I just thought it was very clever too. I find when I say that it helps me to stop obsessing about my particular worry. You can even add a positive affirmation after that phrase. Like "Oops, I forgot, I am over that now. I AM a great sleeper and have no trouble falling asleep. " and then maybe add a scripture verse like "Perfect Love casts out all fear"...

Your mentor's comments are true. I remember Joyce Meyer saying that same exact thing. She says that sometimes she feels fear.. she trembles, her heart races but she just does it despite how she feels. I suppose the more you keep doing it, it becomes a habit and those feelings don't seem to carry so much weight..
But definitely, I think the key is to be OK with feeling uncomfortable. This is where I
have trouble and in the past fought with having them. I guess people who don't have panic attacks don't fight their uncomfortable feelings, they don't fear them. I think that's where we get trapped..

Did this take a while to get used to? I listened to a sample and it just kinda creeped me out but it may just be me.

It's definitely worth a try, though:)

Hi, Keeping the Faith.

It didn't take me too long to get used to it.. I think that probably listening to it from beginning (he does muscle relaxation with the mind) to end might give you a different sense. I think his English accent was a bit foreign to me at first, but I started to like it. He actually has a good voice compared to a few other hypnotists I've heard. So yeah I guess it has grown on me..
I do respect the fact that this CD may not be successful for everyone.. because that's just not how it is..

I felt the same, Keepingthefaith, but I did come across a visualation CD for teens (?) called Rays of Clam that is narrated by Christiane Kerr (British) and downloaded it. I really like it. Once I get bored by this one, I'll probably look for another by her. She may have some for adults, I didn't take time to really look.

Thanks ,Fischee! I'll look for that on iTunes or Amazon! Sometimes I still feel like a teen anyway!LOL

I will probably give the other guy a fair shot at some point, too, based on the success rate, but I think I'll start out with your suggestion.
