I'm in a similar boat, but certain foods like pasta or a low quality bread make it worse, but i've found since I was low on potassium during a pretty bad outbreak that eating a small handful of prunes (lots of sugar there too, be careful) really calmed me down, especially when I had something with calcium (say...cottage cheese), water (works great with the potassium from a food source) and celery (a great source of the good sodium electrolyte). The combo seems to work great and almost instantly for me.. but not from supplements. (you also have to be careful with potassium supplements-- I would avoid it).

This combination also works wonders for any restless leg occurences I get..and they are almost gone completely when I start off my day this way.
there's a happy little cloud
