I am praying for you and wishing you the best. I have came to the point that I pray to God that his will not mine be done. I used to be afraid to pray this but at least I know whatever happens I am in the perfect will of God. It is normal for Christians to worry - I have my blood checked quite a bit and still get worrisome! Relax and be still my friend!

Hi Jen, I hope you don't mind me responding to your question to Newrunner. I have gone through the same fears with my children and I have had others say similiar things to me. Yes, we do need to trust Christ and not fear but it is also a natural response. In 2 Corinthians 7:5, even Paul said they were troubled on every side, Outside were conflicts, inside were fears! Even Paul dealt with fear! We are only human and God knows our weaknesses. He isn't shocked when we struggle with fears but He doesn't want us to be bound by it either. He wants us free because He loves us. I just wanted to encourage you that God is with you to bring you into a place of peace. Life is a journey and everyday brings new challenges and opportunities for us to learn to trust Him more. When we stumble, He is there to lift us up, not beat us down. Take care, Tammy

Tammy, I don't mind you responding at all. Thank you for the encouragement. It's so nice to be able to be free to post my most inner thoughts here and have people who understand respond. It's nice to hear from people who struggle with anxiety and depression to get their take on things.

Hi Jen-
Well- ye old guilt trip, huh? I hate when that happens.

I agree with Steven F. and Tammy. God will take care of you and of your kids and I don't think you doubt that. You sound that you are doubting on the specifics-- like WHO exactly is going to take care of your kids. And there isn't harm in that, I think. In fact, it can be used as a blessing to get yourself to the point that you are being proactive in your life. Like-- in reality you said you are a single mom. So- you really do need to think of this issue realistically and need to talk to someone about being a guardian for your kids if need be, and then get it in legal writing. At that point, you will have done all that you humanly can. I think God respects that. And then after you've done what you can, when the anxiety bug starts biting, tell her to back off Jack! because it is Satan whispering in your ear that just maybe God isn't strong enough.

I used to look longingly at friends who seemed to be peaceful and wish I could be like that. What I did to help myself on that front was get involved in an in-depth Bible study (called Bible Study Fellowship) and I found that when I got into the Word and studied for myself and really picked apart the verses, etc. the faith really did grow. Just like God promises it will. I thought that I could just wish for it and it would be granted unto me. I didn't realize that I had to ask for it and work on it. I am not perfect by any stretch, but I can shut down the runaway train of What ifs usually. Which is a miracle unto itself.

Blessings on your day.

Sorry it's taken me a bit to get back to you-- lots of kid's school projects going on and haven't been logged on for a bit.

Levels still a little high according to the second blood test, but down since the first one. AST level went from 114 to 38 and ALT from 150 to 76. Nothing showed up on the sonogram and no signs of hepatitis. The doctor still isn't sure why they were/are elevated, but I will need to go back in one month for more blood work. Thanks everyone for your prayers. I really do need to learn to trust in God "completely."

Well those are much better numbers...Start drinking water to assist your liver in cleansing your blood and look into Milk Thistle tablets...
