I would love to hear your input - I have gone through the program 3 times. The first time was in 2002. It is an excellent program and if you study it and do the entire program including the workbook it will work for you.
When there are major life changes I go back to it and review the areas I'm having hiccups in.
I was doing well. Last year I quit my job due to the price of gasoline, a very long commute and a job that I was not happy in. I stayed home to help my husband in his commercial photography business. It was very slow at first. Then things got better and he was shooting for some local magazines. Then the "horrible economy" that's been plastered all over the news hit the magazine market. So for the past 3 to 4 months I have been on every job board possible. The only calls I am getting are for sales positions which are so NOT me.
I am a more mature person who has 20 years of clerical experience yet no one is calling. I've spent this time exercising and eating right and getting rid of excess stress weight.
I do Weight watchers and for the past 14 weeks I have steadily been losing until last week when I had a very minimal gain.
So I am changing my exercise routine - shaking it up a bit and changing the way I'm going about the job search. I will start putting the feet to the pavement next week. I will start knocking on Human Resource doors and filling out job applications in person. I have exhausted all networking of past co-workers. I did get 2 letters of recommendation from former bosses and my civil service test results. I'm doing everything right but not getting results yet.
I do find that if I think about the money or lack of money I will get a panic attack. We have enough for this month. So I am changing my approach to how I think about money too.
Would appreciate prayers and advice if you have been through this...Is there something I'm missing?
Would love to hear your input.
Job search anxiety - panic attacks about lack of money

There is a lot of fear about the job market and the economy means that many of those fears have a real basis.
I do think you're doing the right thing to keep yourself focused and not so anxious. Things will improve, likely in the fall, so I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a quick resolution.
