Hi Juan,
Irregular heartbeats or palpitations are a very common symptom of anxiety. If you have been checked out by your doctor and everything has been okay then it is likely due to your anxiety. One of the first things that happen when your adrenaline kicks in is your pulse begins to quicken and this can lead to palpitations. Also, the irregular heartbeat is a very common side effect of energy drinks. I personally cannot drink anything with alot of caffeine in it as it will trigger palpitations. When you feel these irregular heartbeats, try self-talk and tell yourself that you are okay. They will pass. Good luck and if you need us, we are here.

Juan,
I also have these and even thought I have wore a heart moniter and had a normal EKG I still freak out everytime I have them. They seem to come and go with some days I do not have any and some it happens all throughout the day and it scares me. When it happens I can feel it in my throat and I think if they continue I may go to a cardiologist to just make sure I'm ok. I am only 26 and am in good health but why do these happen to us, I also know that people whith anxiety are way more aware of their body symptoms and are sometimes "looking" or "waiting" for something to go wrong so this also makes it hard. I also know that irregular beats and palpations are very common and my doc also said its probably due to my anxiety so she gave me Xanax to take when it happens, she said last time I went that if they continued or got worse she would send my to see a cardio to make sure, so that scared me. It also seems like when one symptom goes away another comes to replace it and keep me worrying. Thanks for sharing and good luck and keep us updated on you heart. Take care Bobbie
