Agoraphobic - Going To Mexico
I really need some support. I am recovering from agarophobia and about to head off to Mexico near Cancun in a couple of months for vacation. I am trying to be positive, but I can't help stop the negative thinking. This is a big step for me flying to Mexico. Not only am I agoraphobic but I am just getting over my fear of flying. I am mostly nervous about being in a foreign country and not being able to get help if I need it. I have this belief that healthcare in Mexico is awful, i am afraid of food poisoning, kidnapping, etc...I think if I was going some place a little more stable I would be feeling better about this. Any support or advice would be appreciated....thanks

I have been the that area and it was very safe. Remember that the anticipation is ALWAYS worse than the actual event itself. Once you get there its going to be so beautiful, relaxing, fun that you will laugh at yourself for having all that anxiety. And when you get home you will be so proud. This is a big step and tell yourself that of course you feel anxious, you are facing a big fear. You are ready for this, you deserve it!

We had a vacation planned to Mexico, paid in advanced. Had to go even though I am in anxiety and agarophobia cycle. I hate to fly. It really is the anticipation. It is so beautiful there and the people are so wonderful. I live in AZ and we go to Mexico often. You will have a great time. Life is slower there so... relaxing is always possible. Hope you enjoy.
