post partum,anxiety,horomones????
I just had a beautiful baby in jan. as most of you that come to the chat know. When i came home I felt normal again no panic etc. It was great! Then rigt before I started my period it all came back. My docotr gave me birth control. I'm wondering if this will help or make me worse? I'm not sure what it is. I'm not stressed about anything I have a good relationship with baby, I don't think about hurting him r myself, so i don't understand what's going on? Today my stomach hurts, runny nose and stopped up at the same time so that's making me feel short of breath, watery eye's.I'm sure I'm comming down with something but what about the pther stuff. I gagg a lot when i get real panicky/anxious and spacey is the worst. I just can't stand that feeling. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. xoxo to all
I recommend reading books by Pam Vredevelt about anxiety, pregnancy, and hormones. She says it takes about three years for your hormones to get back to pre pregnancy levels. A lot of her books are out of print, but you can get used ones on amazon.com. Like you said, you just wanted to know that it was your hormones making you feel this way so you wouldn't feel "crazy", and so maybe she could help you understand even more:).

Dear Daw...Any type of change...be it good or bad...can worsen symptoms of anxiety and panic...
I suggest that you refresh your self on the program...Listening to the relaxation tape may be very helpful...And remember to do the deep-breathing exercises....Hormones may also be playing a role, here....I tried the progesterone, once, and I had a terrible experience with it...It made me much more anxious...It may have just the opposite effect on you......Also, remember to continue doing your positive self-talk....And accept those feelings and try and float through them...If you are a believer, then trust in God....I hope this helps you...God Bless!!!!

Yes, I'm going through EXACTLY the same thing myself. i had a baby girl in January. I was feeling great then I got my period and suffered suddenly from some of the worst anxiety EVER. I could barely function at work. I am finally on 50mg of Zoloft, which seems to be starting to work. I've only been on it for about 10 days. I also got a script for Ativan to take. the anxiety was some of the worst I have ever ever experienced. I'm convinced there is a hormone connection. Wow! so nice to actually find someone else who is experiencing the same thing.
