Recovered....there is hope for all!!
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to pop in and tell you all that I suffered with anxiety attacks and GAD for almost 15 years. I am happy to say it is all gone away. I have worked my way thru it all and you guys can too. I have been on many different meds, had counselling, scoured the internet, been on different programs and have suffered needlessly for many many years. I am med free and feel more confident in all areas of my life that I never even dreamed possible. DO NOT let anyone tell you that you have to live like this. It is a nervous disorder not a mental illness. The chemistry that has changed within in you is simply because of all the fear hormones floating around in there. I have had all the symptoms imaginable both mental/physical/emotional and I feel completely normal again. You only have to stop the fear cycle to heal, and your nerves WILL heal however long you may have suffered. So don't despair....their is hope. Work wholeheartedly on the program and don't worry about how you are feeling. The worry is what keeps the whole thing alive. Challenge yourself work thru the symptoms, see them for what they are....just sensations, nothing more...they FEEL frightening, but ultimatley they can never harm you. There is no edge to go over...that is the illusion. Talk back to it, practise, practise, practise. You can get over this.
Sorry if I am rambling...but I am very happy now and was a complete wreck 3 months ago.
Take care and remember that anxiety is a just a lamb in wolf's clothing.
Take Care,
Chantal

Since I started the program I am doing much better. I have suffered with panic my whole adult life. I do not do well on the medications. The medications can't change your scarey thoughts, or change your attitudes and perceptions. That is the answer as to why the meds don't help. I always felt worse on them. I believe this program gave me the magical key. My anxiety is caused by the way I think. Cure lies in changing the way we think. I am trying.
Chantal,
THANK YOU for posting your success! It really helps to read positive stories like yours. I too have been on meds, done counseling, done other on-line programs for my anxiety and depression. I am so thankful to have found this program... I agree.. IT WORKS!!!
Best of luck and continued health to you!

Chantel, this is great news and I am very glad for you that you are meds free and panic free! I wonder if you listened to other cd's or read other books others than the StressCenter.com materials? I personally find that other materials haev helped me a great amount, but that is after I finished teh program ONE FULL TIME before starting other books etc. YOu are right, people need to LIVE and Breathe the program for a couple months and read teh workbook to get the full effect! You are welcome to privately email/reply to me with any other information.
Thanks.

I think it stands for Generalized Anxiety Disorder.Originally posted by Jazelle:
Wow!! What encouragement! The POWER of the spoken word. What does GAD stand for? I've seen the term in the past but don't recall what it is.
