Hello, I've been a little scared to taper off benzos but i'm ready to do it anyways... I had a bad time trying to do it cold turkey in the past but now that i'm not ignorant about benzos i'm not as scared! If anyone has any tips or been through it please tell me a little bit about you experience!
Thank You! : )

Hi Rose, I had been taking xanax for a couple years due to anxiety issues. I was up to 3 1 mil bars a day when I started tapering off. I did this with my docs approval at every step. I know seizures are a possibility when comning off benzoes so I hope you do the same. I have been completely off since last sept 1, and I am determined to never start them again. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes,,,

Hi Rose. I was taking adavan daily and I got pregnant so I worked with my doctor to taper down. I didn't have any big problems but I can tell you that recognizing when anxiety is building and changing your thinking is HUGE. I would remind myself that it's OK, it will go away no matter how bad it feels right now and that seemed to help when I really felt anxious. Good luck!

I have been on Xanax for a few months, 3 times a day. Have now weaned down to one a day, only .25mg. Don't try to come off too fast....I did that a couple of times and had to start over. Take it slow. Talk to your dr. about how to lower the dosages.....I am doing much better with the help of this program....it has made coming off meds much easier. I don't feel like I need to "pop a pill" to get through my stress and anxiety!

Thank you all for sharing with me! I have been through the program and it has helped me have a handle on how to calm down and be more positive! It really changed my life!!! With what I've learned & applied I know I don't need ativan anymore... The program helped me get out of my shell! I've been on ativan (1.5 a day) for nearly 7 years, long time! I have recently been reading all over the internet about benzo withdrawal and its overwhelming (scary withdraw symptoms) ... I've worked so hard with the program and have come so far! I guess I don't want to go through mental pain anymore!

I was on klonopin, the strongest of the benzo's, I think, for about 3-4 years. I weaned slowly for pver a year and I have been completely off for about 8 months. I don't see myself ever going back to that stuff, pinkee
