I had alwys been really anxious going to the dentist. I had a alot of problems with my teeth as a child and spent alot of time at the dentist. Then in late teens and early 20"s needed to have two root canals.

I stoppped going for a number of years because of the fear of the panic attacks and losing control at the dentist. Then I had children. I decided no matter what, we were going to take better care of their teeth and that going to the dentist was just like a visit to the doctors.

So I started going back for cleanings and rountine care. I was panicky but got through them. Even had braces placed to correct a severe overbite.

I just go now and don't even think about going. Although I do get anxious when I hear the drill. It's helped that I told them I get very anxious at the dentist.

Just think of the beautiful smiles we now have because we're working through our limitations.

Take care and God Bless

Shifrah
I'd love to know where you went for you root canal. My root canal took 3 hours. I think it really depends on who does your work and if they do it in two days or one.

I think no matter what - you just have to remember that having a panic attack is not the problem- it is the reaction to it that matters most.
