high anxiety after running ...

Post by jdog499 » Tue Nov 06, 2012 2:34 pm

so last night im at my softball game. I play about 3x a week . I can admit that I am pretty out of shape. I havent weighed this much probably in my whole life. So i'm batting and i hit a shot over the left fielder who mis-played it and I knew I was going to at least get a triple but I was pretty much running as hard as i could and I ended up getting all the way around for a homerun. So i get back to the dugout and sit down. I knew I was going to be out of breathe for a few, but i didn't realize how much it took out of me. My heartrate was so highh, could feel it beating out my chest(which i get real uncomfortable with), felt weak an I pretty much let it get out of hand. Took me a few hours to finally get it together.

Hi jdog. This is coach Janine. Congrats for a great hit! Do you think that it was your anxiety that caused your breathing to get out of hand? It sounds like it was a natural thing for your heart beat to increase from running toward home plate. When you realized that your heart beat was up, did you start to think of reasons (other than running) why your heart was beating faster? It may have escalated your anxiety. You mentioned that you were out of shape. Maybe you pushed too hard. Good for you for getting out there to exercise!

hi there coach lol yes I did start having negative thoughts when I started concentrating on my heartrate. I had not ever pushed myself to run my hardest in a long time. I'd run out a single to first my hardest but running from home all the way around at my all took alot out of me and I think i just over did it and got nervous.
