He said to his son he was a loser!

Post by King Peace » Wed Mar 07, 2012 1:13 pm

My friend had a meltdown in front of his 11 year old son. He said he would rather kill himself rather than see his son turn out to be a lose like he was. His son was crying. My friend did calm down and spend the next few days apologizing and trying to reverse the damage his words did, if that is possible. What can my friend do to fix the hurt? He said he loved his son, he was sorry. He want to go for therapy. How can he find a therapist? My friend needs help.

Your friend needs to know that children are the most forgiving among us. I was a basket case during some time when my son was about 12 and daughter younger. Son was so unbelievably caring. What I told my children regularly was that what was hurting me had nothing whatever to do with them. I reassured them of that again and again. They always knew that I loved them. Maybe your friend can convey his abiding love.

Hope this can help.
