Just when I thought it was gone!
Just when I thought it was gone!
I've had a really good stretch of using techniques from this program and another one but the past few days have been rough. I was thinking about it and I've been letting really negative thoughts back into my life and sure enough here I am again, not as bad a before though. Time to get back on the horse and start using the skills I've learned to see if I can't get on the right path again. It's amazing how easy we fall back into out old habits when we are feeling ok!!!! I have to go to my neice's graduation tonight and antisipatory anxiety is rearing it's ugly head.

Hi John61, I hope you do well at the graduation! Is it the crowds that scare you? Paislee

Hi John61 I know the way u feel .I to feeel like that to sometimes. It goes away then u feel it coming back. im like that. That thinking is what i hate.i get dizzy feeling when i get anxiety and ruins everything. Just got to keep feeding our brain with positve thoughts not negative ones. feel better.

Well I went to the graduation a felt pretty good through out. I've had a few rough days since then but not horrible. My son's graduation is tonight and I think I'll be ok since the other went fine. Large crowds tend to stress me out, especially all the energy at a school crowd.
Re: Just when I thought it was gone!
How did it go? When I feel that "energy of the crowd" thing, I try to think rationally about how much energy really will be directed at me. Usually in a crowd situation, I am not the center of attention. In the graduation situation, you would be irrelevant to all but your family, etc. So-- that is good.
I hope you had a positive experience.

It was a little tough, thanks for asking. I'm not sure if it was being in a large crowd and the heat or just a normal anxious episode. No panic just the dizziness and uncomfortable feelings on unreality. No one knew I felt bad so it was ok. Of course that spurred on a bad morning which I hate.

Whenever I'm in a large crowd of people (store, movie theater, etc) I just remind myself that I can leave anytime I want. That helps me.
