Having procedure done May 31st and really need some support
Hi everyone....Well I am now in week 11 of this program and I have made unbelievable progress...When I first started I barely got out of my bed and now I leave the house pretty much every day...I have taken the subway which I havent done in almost a year and I also made it to a doctors appointment that i had in manhattan that i have been putting off for the past year. I must have rescheduled the appointments with this doctor at least 10 times and this past monday i actually made it there...it was a true miracle..I have been putting off this procedure for the past 5 years because of my anxiety and this is not a good thing...i have precancerous cells on my cervix and if not removed it will turn into cancer...every time i have scheduled the procedure i get to the hospital and totally freak out and wind up not going through with it...my doctors are worried that i have waited to long and they cannot stress enough how important it is for me to have this done...i know logically that i need this done but its like once the day comes and i go to the hospital i totally freak out and have no control over myself...i am hoping that since i have done so well with this program i will actually make it through this finally...I believe this procedure is called a leep procedure ...Have any woman here had this procedure done ,if so what was your experience? I have 3 weeks to build myself up mentally for this and im going to need all the help i can get! Thanks!

Yes, I've had this done. Just went there, got on the table, felt nothing, don't think any anesthetic was needed. Walked out and drove home.
Doctor underestimated what a gym rat I am. Started up too soon and started to bleed. Had to return, but all was OK. So be sure to give it time to heal. Relax, nothing else to worry about. So glad the program is working for you. Don't take it for granted, keep up whatever it calls for. Best to you.

I did the same as you and waited 2 yrs. to go back. This was 20 yrs. ago but I had a cone biopsy where they remove a ring off the cervix hense the cone shape. I still had cells in the margin so had to have a second surgery, hysterectomy. I had my cervix & uterus removed but kept my ovaries. I was 33 and this was highly recomended because my mother had died from cervical cancer at 47 yrs. old. What you need to do is a much simpler procedure and nothing to fear. YOU NEED TO DO THIS NOW. If your so anxious ask your Doc for some meds to get you through it. Dont mess with this. PLEASE.

Thank you for the info. I am determined to get through it this time no matter how scared I am. I keep telling myself nothing is going to happen and even if something does happen I will be in the hospital and the doctors will take care of me. Please say a prayer for me!
