Post by Brandi Menifee » Fri Apr 01, 2011 2:35 am

Hey guys, I jus wanted 2 kno if anyone has had or noticed more heart palpitations since trying 2 ween off of an antideppressant? I've been weening off of my Lexapro very slowly 4 like the past 2-3 months now. Since I went 4rm 20mgs, to 10mgs of my Lexapro, I've noticed more heart palpitations! Is this jus my anxiety? I've had alot of things chked off and on for the past 2 yrs., so not really worried that its my heart. The palpitatons are jus scary and annoying! Jus curious? :?

Brandi - I think its a safe bet it is both the weaning off and some anxiety...I recently went off mine and felt the same. I was actually getting sick from being on lexapro for too long. I'm feeling much better now and have been totally öff for a month :) keep working the program and these symptoms will go away as you realize they are only anxiety and ate able to just go with them or not experience them at all anymore. Sounds like you're doing good things for your body :)

When I weaned off of Wellbutrin, my symptoms were a "rubbery leg" feeling, or weakness in the legs. Another word for it would be jittery legs, kind of hard to describe. But what I learned from Lucinda is that that is part of anxious body symptoms or probably withdrawal. So I learned to go with it and made sure I ate protein meals, such as tuna, chicken, beef, other ocean fish, and eggs, also walking or keeping active or engaged in conversation with others helped.
