Eating...????
Eating...????
i have social anxiety and i never eat in public or in front of people i don't know or aren't comfortable with, even my new boyfriend. i never eat before i see him or before i go out with friends because if i do i start to panic and think "what if i throw up in front of them"! sometimes i'll just eat once a day! even if i do try eating, i throw up. i hate this because sometimes i get really hungry, and i would like to go out to eat with my friends or my boyfriend but i just can't and everytime they ask me if i want to go out to eat i have to make up an excuse.. does anyone else have this problem?

Re: Eating...????
I've had problems eating due to anxiety symptoms, which came about after weaning off of anti-depressants and experienced some stressful events last year. I only can eat meals now that are high in protein or Omega 3's, such as eggs, fish, chicken, and beef. Next to that is vegetables and then fruit. Sugar and chocolate can set my anxiety symptoms off. I never use to have this problem, but to add to this I never was at the beginning stages of Menopause either.
The only way I can eat sweets is after I a Restoril (temazepam) which is a form of Benzodiazapene or Benzo for short. It calms the body and the gut region. Otherwise, if I'm in a good social environment where I'm relaxed, I can eat also, but I'm careful to not have very salty foods as well and I never drink caffeine and now stay away from regular soda pop due to the sodium intake.
Your eating problems could be more associated with you anxiety with "people" and hopefully you can get that figured out through working the program. Let us know how you do. Paislee
