Thanks for the good wishes. Now I start my day with meditation and do it again toward the end of the day. The program also recognizes the therapeudic value of relaxation/meditation. I have made it a hard and fast rule not to skip it. It is outstanding for the mind-body connection.
Hope it's a good day for all.

Rachael, Glad to hear you are getting results from the relaxation tape or CD. I love how you relax during the stop lights.
I started to listen to the relaxation CD in while taking a bath and then thought against it as what if I really relaxed! Yikes!
Bklyn--I'm glad to hear from you as well. I hope things work better for you with the other DR for your heart palpitations.
Tina, if my older brother lived closer that would be great. I'm either going to have to join a class to learn Tai Chi or get a DVD. This brother did buy me a yoga mat a while back and last summer sent me a CD with relaxing music from the great music artists around Beethoven's time period or such. And a Pilates DVD as well, I'm not quite up to par for this Pilates DVD.
This brother is always into healthy habits of eating and physical care. He does triathlons while he is in his mid 60's as my little brother does just marathons. I think they have my Dad's genes, very active and never gain an ounce of fat. I even asked them about wearing their bodies out with all their physical training of their bodies. One is taking a rest from the long distant running for now and the other is learning how to become a Trainer since he is retired from an official job.
I can see how Tai Chi can get all the muscles moving and help to relax the mind by going through the movements.
J, I hope you are doing okay. Paislee

Re: "What if" thinking
How are you Bklynbee? I survived at work. My problem is I'm going during the week, I go nowhere on weekends, then Monday comes and it's hard to start again. Hope all of you are doing well.
Re: "What if" thinking
Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is doing well. As for me still not to good...i keep having these heart palps and once I have them I am scared to do anything. If I could just get rid of them I think I would be a lot better. I want to go to the doc for this but I cant right now because im out of work and I have no health coverage. I think this is adding to my anxiety. Im waiting to get my tax refund because with that money I plan on going to the doc but there is some kind of delay with it and it is really aggravating me. I did my taxes back in January and still no money. I have been calling the irs to find out what is going on but they keep telling me they have no answers right now and i have to wait the full 8 weeks. They said they sent me a letter in the middle of feb but i have still yet to see it. Has anyone here ever gone through something like this? I really need this money so I can go to the doc and put my mind at ease already.
Rachel I used to be the same way when I was working...i used to have a ton of anxiety in the beginning of the week and then by usually thursday i would feel so much better cause I knew it was almost over. By Saturday night the anxiety used to come back just thinking about the next week. I am eventually going to have to look for a job again and I have no idea how I will be able to work again feeling the way that I have been. Everyone says I will feel better if i go back to work but I find that hard to believe. (Negative thinking is such a hard habit to break) Time and patience.

Re: "What if" thinking
I forced myself to go on an outing today, it was so difficult, I purposely had my 2 nephews go with me.
I almost turned back three times, but I listened to the relaxation tapes on my way there. The hardest
part is getting through the first hour. Then I was enjoying myself a little. Then I was ready to leave after
three hours, but so were they. No anxiety going home. I felt good and I think next time, it could be even
easier. I hope you get your tax money soon bklynbee. I felt better going out mentally than if I would have
had someone else take them and found an excuse not to go.

That is great Rachael that you were able to get out. I have so much anxiety in the morning that it literally takes everything in me to control it. If I could just get past this crappy feeling I have in the morning I would be so happy. Hopefully over the next few weeks it will get better. I know a lot of times you do feel better when you get out. The hard part is actually getting out of the house. Maybe later on i will just go and stand in front of my house for a few minutes to start off. I have to start somewhere.

Hi Bkylnbee,
Good to hear from you. Yes getting out was nice, it was difficult, not easy, but I did it.
Try going outside for a little, look at the clouds, the birds, focus on the beauty.
I hope tomorrow brings some joy to everyone.

Re: "What if" thinking
Hi Everyone.
I have my own "what if" tonight. I'm working my first late shift at the hospital. (midnight - 8am)
Now I understand everyone's "what if" anxiety. What if I can't do it? What if I'm not strong enough? What if I'm too weak and
fall asleep?
I have been listening to my own advise, (sort of) and I've decided to pretend that I am taking an all night flight on a plane. I will be exhausted in the morning, but I will just take it hour by hour. I rarely sleep on a plane, and am usually uncomfortable.
So, this is no different.
I can do this. I'm going to make myself some tea now.
Sweet dreams.......
Loveslife.

Re: "What if" thinking
Hey do people reply more often on the main community than the 1-15 chapter blogs? I have not really had anyone reply or had any support on here
