Hello,
Im sending this in the middle of an anxiety attack that I'm going through now. So far I enjoy the program and I really hope it helps. I really need for these anxiety issues of mine to go away... or should I say I need to concer them.
I've been this way for about 10 years and its taken its toll on my family and I. I'm on meds and seeing a therapist but this is really scary. Fear is the hard part, even the what ifs are tough. My wife unfortunately is looking at apartments to move out which adds even more fear and anxiety to me. I want my wife and son at home with me so we can be a family, I want to go do things again but its hard. Her possibly moving out is devestating me especially with the possibility that my son may be going with her.
I feel like such a sissy, like I can't, and I hate this phrase 'man up'. I truly believe in God and family and I want to make this work. I've said more here then I anticipated so I'll stop I'm sure people don't want to hear my problems. Plus this is the first time I've ever posted anything. Anybody have any thoughts or words of encouragement? I hate this anxiety feeling!
P.S. I posted this elsewhere on the site also. I didn't know where I should place it, sorry about that.

Re: Anxiety and Family
Vman,
I'm glad you are doing this program! I have gone through it 1 time and reviewing it for the second time. It really does help and it has changed many ways I view things. What session are you on?
These forums are undergoing changes and many people who have been here a long time have not been posting. I know when they get the bugs worked out people will post again.
Its anxiety remember to except it, breathe, relax and float with it. It passes. Don't let it scare you! It sounds like you have many things bothering you right now. Do your program and it will teach you how to break down your thinking to become more productive and positive! Deal with facts and not fears, what ifs. Posting has helped me as well. I think it helps you organize your thoughts and many people add new ways of thinking in their post.
Hope you feel better soon!!!

Re: Anxiety and Family
You've certainly come to the right place, we've all been in your shoes. I think for our loved ones who don't suffer from anxiety, it can be very difficult for them to understand. Allowing them to listen to the tapes on their own may help them to understand what it is that you're going through. It took my boyfriend a while to understand and at first I think it just sort of scared him because he had no idea what an anxiety disorder was and of course he couldn't relate. They will never truly understand what we're going through and that's okay, but hopefully your wife will come around. But for now, try and focus on yourself and getting better step by step. It's certainly not an overnight change but by doing the program, I know you'll see a big change in yourself.
