I have had this problem for many years, off and on. I have had several ER visits and all kinds of tests and blood work which all came back normal. I was wondering if anyone else had a problem with this and if there is something that helps them. I am on a magnesium, calcium, citrate supplement which helps. Last night while driving home my heart started fluttering and I became dizzy and would have gone into an anxiety attack had I not had the skills we have learned in this program. It still scares me though and I have a hard time getting back in the car and driving after this happens. Please let me know if you have experienced these episodes and if there are any suggestions to help with this. Thanks soo much. God Bless!

Hi SusanE077,
My heart feels like it wants to stop or it stutters a bit so I guess I’m not sure if that is what you call a flutter or not. I did wear a heart monitor 2 different times & the Dr. said it is perfectly normal for this to happen & that it will not stop beating, he called it a misfire He said that almost everyone’s heart does this but a certain few can feel it in there chest. I Stopped smoking & almost all caffeine & it did help my heart calm down a bit. Some decongestions will make my heart stutter & start up again also. Over eating & eating late at night made my heart do funny things also. My heart has been doing this for around 15 or 16 years off & on. I work with a guy who’s heart does the same thing & his stopped fluttering when he quit drinking diet pop, it had something to do with the substitute sugar they use. Oh yeah when my anxiety is high it does it more often so I’m trying to calm down with this program. Good Luck.

Thanks for your reply. :) Yeah I think stutter is about the same feeling. I have quit drinking caffeine months ago and am working on quitting sugar (its alot harder for me to give sugar up). I try not to think about it when my heart acts like that but it's hard to get your mind off it, especially when you are driving. All day today I have anticipated the feeling again but Thank God it hasn't happened. Thanks again. God bless!!

Knowing that it wont harm you helps a lot. Like I said I have had it for 15 or 16 years & now it doesnt bother me when it stutters because I know it wont hurt any thing. :D

Hi there. I am actually a little freaked out.. I finished the program and now I am redoing some things just for extra confidence.. but I went to the doctor today and I have high blood pressure, hyper tension and iregular heart beat. I am 27. I have to go to the cardiologist on Tues and I am a bit scared of the whole thing... It's funny because one thing that I used to have anxiety and fear over was having a heart attack or something bad like that.. now I am seeing a heart doctor.. good times!

Hi LindsayA
It’s hard not to freak out about something we don’t understand. It’s probably nothing but it’s a good idea to have it checked out. Anxiety can cause strange things to our minds & body. I have a brother who years ago said he couldn’t breathe & thought he was going to die. But he was breathing just fine but to him he wasn’t. It was all in his mind & once he calmed down, he was ok. I also had an uncle whos heart would skip every third beat & he had this all of his life. He lived a normal life & a long one. Let me or us know how you come out with your heart Dr. Just try not to worry because chances are its nothing at all.
Good Luck,
Larry

Lindsay, I'll be thinking about you on Tuesday. I to have the heart fluttering with high BP and it feels like it is skipping around. I have to go to the cardiologist a week from Monday and do the nuclear stress test on the treadmill, echocardiopgram ,blood tests etc. Plus on my last visit he doubled my BP meds. I'm just plain scared they will find something wrong. I hope they will just tell me it's my anxiety problem. I am trying to relax and do the breathing and distract myself. Reading what all of you have written makes me feel better. Maybe one day we will get to where we won't have the fluttering and skipping around. That would be a great day!

I to have flutters. I get them off and on. THe doc told me that is ok and will not hurt me or damage my heart or make me more prone to heart attack. So I ahve gotten used to it. I just breath through it and distract my self. It was scary at first because I started having panic attacks where my heart would beat almost out off my chest and I would start to black out. THis scariest part of this is I was 30 when it started...my father died when he was 32 of heart and lung failure! I was in deep panic and had every test preformed. It came out that my heart is very healthy and so am I (for the most part). I hope this helps!

thanks for all your responses, your words bring comfort. :) My father decided at 53 from heart attack, his brother was in his 30's and died from a heart attack and two of his sons (my half brothers) died young from heart attacks. So with my anxiety problem and my family history, it makes me worry even more that something is wrong with my heart. I try to not think about it but its really hard not to. I thanks God for friends like you all. God Bless Each and Every One of Ya!!!

Have you shared your family's history with your doctor? Some things can be treated and prevented. Do you have sleep apnea? A Cpap machine can correct this and prevent heart conditions. The Lord gets me through each day.
The Lord will protect you.
