Through my experiences with panic attacks and anxiety and learning to overcome them I have found that taking time to listen to relaxing music really helps you destress, apart from the relaxation session of the program. I am a college student studying music and I love post-romantic classical music.

There is one piece I really enjoy listening to called "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" by R. Vaughan Williams. It is very relaxing. Here is a youtube link for a preview though I reccomend buying it for better quality.

Another piece I really enjoy listening to for relaxing is "Prelude a l'apres midi d'un faune" by Claude Debussy.

The point of this topic is for all of us to share peaceful relaxing music that soothes us. I will post more of my favorites later on. It does not need to be classical music, it can be any genre (classical just happens to be my favorite).

I have never really listened to classical music. That was nice, it took my mind off my worries. I have heard music like that in movies but that was kinda neat because you could interpret what you thought it was. Even though no one was singing it still had a voice.
Thanks for sharing :)

I love relaxing instrumental music too,and have quite a cd collection. My favorite is Celtic, especially harp. Both Target and WalMart have a section separate from the rest of the cds with some excellent ones. I treat myself often to a new one and I always feel uplifted and relaxed when I listen to my music.

When you want Truth as much as you want that first breath of air while drowning - that is when you will find it.

This is a great post! I play piano and have alot of peaceful piano music that i listen to when im trying to relax. Some of my favorites are actually songs from movies.
The movie Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley has a relaxing and beautiful soundtrack! The songs: Dawn <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnuR0Nij2KA" TARGET=_blank>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnuR0Nij2KA</A> , End Credits <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJvFu4mm ... re=related" TARGET=_blank>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJvFu4mm ... related</A> , Mrs. Darcy <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q68QRLGTfxM" TARGET=_blank>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q68QRLGTfxM</A> . Those are some of my favorites but they're all great from that movie. Also some of the music from the movie Atonement: Denouement <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPSHdF_q_Q0" TARGET=_blank>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPSHdF_q_Q0</A> , The cottage on the beach <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwsNnF5L ... re=related" TARGET=_blank>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwsNnF5L ... related</A> , Love letters <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5o2k7Ca ... re=related" TARGET=_blank>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5o2k7Ca ... related</A> , and Elegy for Dunkirk <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_iljlyF ... re=related" TARGET=_blank>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_iljlyF ... related</A> . You reallly should check the music out, its beautiful and moving. From the Finding neverland soundtrackL Piano Variation in Blue <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFoP8QKal_g" TARGET=_blank>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFoP8QKal_g</A> , which is gorgeous!!!
Danilo88 Claude de Bussy's music is so great. Right now I'm learning one of his pieces reverie, I love his piece Clair de lune (that is very relaxing). I'm thinking about becoming a music major, right now i'm a humanities major because I have no clue what i want to do lol.

So everyone you should definitely try out some of the music from those movies because it is very moving and helps me when i'm having a hard time with anxiety and i think it would help you too! Let me know what you think of it!
