Need help - bad night

I've had an infection for the last week and afraid to take meds that the dr gave me...so I took a small portion of them instead of the full dose...anyway, infection may have progressed into my kidneys and am totally freaking out....health info is too readily available for us "what if thinkers"...anyone out there that can give me some support??? Anything Please help.

Cdduck, please take your meds. Infection can get worse, and make you so much sicker if left untreated. You need to remember that not everyone gets the side affects listed about a medication. The affects have to be listed in order to protect the company if for instance, someone takes the medicine improperly, or someone doesn't tell the doctor that they are taking other drugs (over the counter, or street drugs) for example, or perhaps sharing their perscription with others etc...... If your doctor has prescribed you something, and knows every other drug your on, your history, and listens to you and is a good doctor, then please don't worry. You will be OK. Just take them exactly as prescribed, and feel better. I use to feel the same way until a nurse explained to me the very thing I have explained to you. There are side affects to all drugs, but usually not bothersome,and usually go away, and if they are bothersome,they can be changed. I hope your infection gets better quickly. Please take your meds.
