Sometimes i dont have time to come in here early on in the day..Funny thing is most people with anxiety have issues with sleep..This would really be a great way to get some peace of mind to be able to chat with others..but its closed at 10!. ha..ok just a little frustrated.

I know what you mean Precilla...this also frustrates me as I do have issues with sleep and sometimes bad anxiety at night. Fortuantely for me it closes at 1am due to my location. It says it's 24/7 but it isn't. Maybe we should write an e-mail to the admissions and ask why it closes.

There was a reply from Admin. on a similar post a while back and at that time the reason was that the nature of some of chats late at night was not very appropriate.

I agree with you all 100%.........I have a 8 - 5 job and by the time I get home get my daughter taken care of it is 11 and then I can't sleep..........I never can sleep........I would love to be able to get on here and chat with someone. Unfortunately, some people mis-use the system. And where does that leave us who is really serious about getting better. It is all very frustrating!

I wish that the chats did not have to close at 10 as well. I am frequently up after 10.

The chat room hours were selected by the directors at StressCenter.

Carolyn, director of education for StressCenter, put's it this way:

"If one is having an anxiety attack, loneliness, and/or depression period during those off hours it would be a good time to practice what you are learning from the program."

"Never rely on chat or the people in chat as being your safe house or safe person. You have to learn to become your own "safe person" and when you do that, you're on the way to recovering from anxiety."

There are no plans to change the chat room hours back to 24/7/365 at this time.
