Hi,

I am wondering if anyone ever sees tiny black specks from thier eyes when looking in certain directions or when moving your eyes or head. I was once told they are called floaters and usually happen to people who get migrains. I have these floaters quite often but don't get many migrain headaches at all. If I do it's from something I ate that I'm allergic to.

Just curious!!

Thanks, Have a good day!

Yes, they are floaters. I have them all the time, and when I get very stressed, it gets worse. My optometrist did explain them to me once, as to exactly what they are, but I cant remember. The only thing I remember from her is that they are fine and not harmful. And really that is all I wanted to hear from her anyways!!!! Take care

yes monty's mom
i have the exact same issue! But no pain in my head.... i guess we are blessed not to get the pain in our heads the way most get them. I was actually driving one day i had to pull over and wait till they were gone(for me it's about 20 or so minutes) i have seen a few docs about this. as it was very scary at first.
well hope you are having a great day. good luck to you

Thankyou terag and seawolf so much for your answers. It has been happening for years but never remembered to ask my doctor.
It's hard to get 5 minutes with one and usually needed script refills so there went my 5 minutes.

Have a good one!!

Hey everybody,
That happens to me sometimes when I bend over. I don't understand it. I thought maybe it's because I need to lose weight. it's like my eyes are being strained. I feel pressure behind them when I bend over really fast or hard. If that makes any sense? I would love to know why it happens though. If anyone else knows?

KarenLeigh,

I was just reading about the vagus nerve response to certain types of stimulation and bending over is one of the cause of that stimulation which may be causing the visual changes you are experiencing. I have a copy of the information that I found and would be happy to send it to you. I found the information very interesting and helpful. It may not be what is causing your problems, but it may give you some understanding of what could be happening that you could discuss with your doctor.

I hope this helps...take care,

Hello!! I don't really know what that thing is that you described because my english are a bit limitated ( I think that is the wright word). But I often have migrane and then it hurt behind my one eye and it's always on the left side of my face. I know it has to do with my anxiety and that I'm tense. I hope this getting better when I can feel more relaxed and calm. Today I bought a very nice notice book to used to wright down bad thought's and then try to turn them to be positive instead. Thank's again to monty's mom I can't really understand how one person can be so good, thougtfull, and sensetive you have so much visdom this come right from my heart to you!! Take care.

Hi Lazzzycat,

I actually just bent down when vacuming and when my head came back up there were the black floaters. I guess i spend more time just moving my head up or down or moving me eyes so that's what stood out the most.

I would appreciate very much reading what info you have.

Thankyou so much!!!

Hi Monty'smom...

I would be happy to get that info to you too. I am just wondering what the best way to do it would be. There are a few who want to see it...but it may be too much info to post on here. If you want to send me your email address I could email it to you. But if you don't feel comfortable doing that maybe there is another way to do it that I am not aware of. Just let me know what works for you and I will be happy to do so.

Hi!I had this happen before and went to the eye Dr.He said what happens is that our eyes have like a gel in them and as we age that gel is no longer needed and it starts to dry up.He said that's where you get the floaters. The gel sloshes around and actually gets like bubbles and that is what you see. It's gotten a lot better for me so I guess he was right.I also would get where it would look like rippling water when I looked down.Hope this helps.Take care!
