I have been having pains in my chest. They feel like I am being poked in my chest near/on my left breast. They hurt. I have thought before that I was having a heart attack so I have been to a cardiologist several times and have been told be SEVERAL doctors that I am fine and I don't have heart problems. Does anyone ever experience tht kind of pain? I have been a little nervous feeling the past couple days.

Also, does anyone take any natural remedies to ease anxiety... for example Vitamin B, magnesium etc. I have tried magnesium and do not notice a difference.

Your chest pains come with the anxiety/panic! I get them all the time, I had them kinda bad last week. Im good this week becuase my mood is good. Its normal, dont freak. I was scared too.

To ease the anxiety, I swear by decaf lipton green tea with honey. so good and relaxes me. I also started taking Lucindas feel good positive mood supplement. I bought it from Meijers. Try it!

and lots and lots and LOTS of breathing exercises!!!

good luck:)

Hi ellkay,

The chest pains are anxiety. I had them for years exactly where you have them. Now mine are pretty much gone. On the odd occasion I will get them..usually when something stressfull is going on around me.
Do the relaxation cd a couple of times, that's what helped to calm me down.

I take a calcium pill that also has zinc and magnesium in it, also vitamin D, vitamin C,
& use Sam E, just started on macafem 2 weeks ago. I'm sleeping without any meds right through the night. I feel much better than I have in many, many years.

calcium and vitamin C help with sleep issues.

Hope you get feeling better soon. Those chest pains do hurt..at times I thought there was a boa constrictor wrapped around me. LOL

Best Wishes

Thanks for responding. The feel like sharp "jabs" or tinges maybe. All I know is they scare me. Then the next thing I knew I was having heart palpatations. The whole thing just scares me. I have been good for sooooo long and today has been pretty bad. I felt it coming on though - I told my husband yesterday that I felt anxious and today I am havign these symptoms. I am so afraid of having a heart attack or dying. I don't even like to write those words - they scare me. I feel very frightened right now......

I get the same kind of chest pains. I too have been to the doctor over and over agian. It scares me as well. I have had ekg's and chest xray's and all come back fine. The doctor says it is my anxiety. I thought maybe it was a pulled muscle but I am thinking now that maybe it is anxiety. When I am feeling good I do not get them but when my anxiety is up I get them. Believe me I know what you are sayiny. I start to get the pain, slmost like someone is pinching me on my left side and then my heart starts to race. I get the feeling like something bad is going to happen like a heart attack. It is not a heart attack but anxiety so tell yourself you are ok and try to relax and think of something else. Try to do anything to take your mind off them.

I tend to have a lot of chest paid when I get stressed as well. It really freaks me out. Then I feel like I can't breath and I feel kinda dizzy. I know its my anxiety but I have a really hard time convincing myself that. I have had countless EKGs and chest xrays and they all say that I'm fine. I was doing really well and my doctor and I decided to try going off my meds. I haven't taken them for about 3 months now and was doing ok until I got a cold. for some reason a cold seems to bring out the worst of my anxiety. I have also had a lot of back and neck paid lately. I think its from being so tense. Anyway, I'm glad that I found this post today to remind me that I'm not alone with all of these feelings and that it will pass.

I also suffer with occasional chest pain every day, but mine is due to a chest muscle injury I did almost three years ago. I'm going to see a Orthopedic surgeon soon, to see what my options are - as this every day chest pain is really interfering with the quality of my life. I tend to get the chest pain if I use my my left arm to much, or lift something heavy. My sister also gets chest pain whenever she is really stressed out.

I also get pains in my chest and arms when I have anxiety. Sometimes it feels like a tightness and sometimes it just feels like I'm on a roller coaster and can't catch my breath. Some days it takes a lot of deep breathing and positive self talk to make it go away. But it always goes away eventually. I don't have panic attacks anymore, but I do have general anxiety some days. This is when my chest really feels tight. I have had countless ekgs and xrays and tests and there is nothing physically wrong with me. When I get these chest pains, I remind myself that there is nothing physically wrong with me. Thoughts ;) only Thoughts!

That is one of the worst symptoms for me because it goes hand in hand with difficulty breathing. I have had heart surgery in the past for tetralogy de fallot and my anxiety is caused by a fear of having another/ same heart problem again. I started the course for the second time( First time I did not finish the program and anxiety has returned it's ugly head. The last couple of days I have been having the chest pains, feeling short of breath, and difficulty swalloing and nothing has happened. This helps me get convinced that their is nothing wrong with me and helps with the anxiety. I hope you feel better and I am sure this will go away.
