shakes
Sometimes when I lay down I feel as if my legs and hands are shaking...It is almost more that i feel like I need to get up and move around. Has anyone felt this jittery feeling. Sometimes when i get anxiety my hands also tremble a little...im sure it is the anxiety but I didnt know if any one has any tricks to stop this?

I've noticed that certain medications and dietary consumption will make me shaky (sugar, caffeine, etc.). I have learned that it helps if I avoid them altogether, but especially about 4-6 hours before bed.
But, one thing that does help me is I do get up and walk around some. I also get a drink of water to help "flush" whatever is in my system out a bit more. I've found that the breathing exercises work some too (if not too severe).

I am shaky all of the time. Every anti-depressant I've tried has made me VERY shaky. So shaky, I was embarassed to eat or drink in front of people b/c they would notice the shaking. I've tried xanax to help control it but I can't take it all the time b/c it makes me drowsy. I've tried Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Lexapro, Cymbalta, and now Prozac. Any suggestions as to a med. that doesn't have the shaky side effects?
I wish I could be of some help here but I personally havn't realy had the shakes from any of the meds I was on. Lots of other side affects but not this one.
I was thinking that mmed3o might be experiencing restless leg syndrome but that only affects my legs and it's a weird feeling from inside my legs and it drove me nuts for several years before finding out what it was and getting a med to stop it. I occasionally get a bit of it but since I stopped drinking pop and eating all the sweets and junk foods it hasn't acted up. I'm still on my med for it. I have tried going off it but by the 3rd night it's back with a vengence.

Not sure if you are on any meds but I do know that most meds take 2-6 weeks until you see changes and in the mean time you can go through quite a few side effects including the shakes. I'm saying this because I went through quite a few including the shakes and it took 5 weeks before they were completely gone. The good thing though is that every week is a little bit better until you don't have them at all. Just hang in there. Try the breathing exercise as well everytime you feel them coming on.

The shaking seems to be inside out..like im not really shaking but it feels like it. It only happens when im sitting still. If im moving around and doing stuff it doesnt do anything. And it is not all the time, only on random occasions!

Gee I don't know if it's restless leg as like I said it was usually my legs and yes it can happen when sitting as well as laying down. I was diagnosed by a Rheumatologist and he knew right away by my description of the feelings. I was so happy to find out what was going on because I thought I was losing my mind. It affected me being able to sleep every night. I really think it might be worth while to ask a doctor if it's affecting your sleep. Walking around did help sometimes at night. Thyroid and hormones. I'm perimenopausal. When my hormones are out of wack, this internal shake acts up until I use my hormone cream (natural - derived from wild mexican yam). You have to find a naturopathic doc or women care doc that will give you the correct thyroid and hormone tests. Most tests will not show these results as needed. Check out these web sites:
