Practice what we preach?

Isn't it amazing and so wonderful to be able to encourage others with positive feedback about the same feelings we all have once experienced and people can appreciate and relate to what we are saying, but we forget to use what we've just preached and use it inward on ourselves just as well? Why is that?
What you are saying is so true It is so easy for me personally to give someone else a positive or encouraging word, yet I can't do the same for myself. I guess I empathize with other people more than I do myself.
I guess this is why have this website to support and encourage each other when we can't do it ourselves.

I have to say that I, personally am a very motivating person (LOL). What I mean is, I'm great at helping others, but I don't practice what I preach well either. Here's something I read in the Session 2 workbook today. There's a section for your loved ones to support you and they are talking through scenarios. One of them was (something like), "Don't be so hard on yourself. You wouldn't talk that way to me, why are you doing it to yourself? I love you."
Now, that was both enlightening (for me to think I'm that hard on myself) and depressing (because my hubby and I have been talking about divorce because of my condition causing so many problems). So - I tell you this - as said in the book - there is no safe person or safe place - You = Home/Safety. You will cause your anxiety but you can cause your own bliss as well. Live that way! :p And I'll try to do the same *crossing fingers* -J
