Hi Penu,

L-Glutamine, huh? Is this the same capsule as what some people take for joint health? Can I ask what other meds you're on? I also use aloe vera juice, but I can barely gag it down. *YUCK*

Holly, I get the closing of the throat too it is better it was really bad at first. That prilosec really helped. I won't eat chocolate, or acidic foods either. I watch what I eat.
I get shortness of breath but it comes with the vocal cord dysfunction. I have it to where I can't even cry cause my throat will close like I have asthma or something.
I don't have asthma but it sure feels like it sometimes.
I have dry mouth too.

Hi everyone,

Yes Fischee this l-glutamine is used for joint or bone repair. I know what you mean regarding the aloe vera juice I can barely swallow it however, it is very soothing once it kicks in.

Holly, I don't have the throat closing symptom. I have burning and ripping in my upper chest area, it intensifies when I am over worked and am lacking sleep. It used to be worse. I also felt like I needed to belch frequently. Another symptom I'm not sure is related but I get the worse taste in my mouth in the morning only, it makes me want to gag-could be sinuses. I was on prilosec. I researched and found L-Glutamine and it worked way better. I use to take to capsules-am&pm. Now I only take it when I flares up. I chew gum frequently and have found this flares it up as well as tomatoes, sauces, and spicey foods. I don't get to many flare ups any more. You really have to watch what you eat and try to control your stress levels-I know harder said then done. This disorder is very common and the number of people diagnosed is increasing. Best of luck everyone.
