Yes, Use ACV for GERDS but NO, do not take it straight!
Use as follows:
2 Table spoons of Apple Cider Vinegar (raw unfiltered - get from health food store)
1/4 Tee spoon of baking soda
8 oz of water
Mix and drink twice a day on an empty stomach.
Don't eat anything after for at least an hour.
YES, it works! It completely cured me after 2 years of horrible pain from GERDs and related problems.
Also, you must reduce your stess and calm down when eating. NO coffee, tea or caffiene at all!
God bless and peace be with you.

My grandmother had this old school recipe that someone mentioned here - ACV, honey and warm water but she used it fend off the stomach flu. It seems to work for that too.

thanks you for sharing the mixture Don. . When you had GERD did you have chocking/cant swallow sensations?

Hi guys wow some good info out there thank you .
I have acid reflux and vocal cord dysfunction because of the acid reflux. I also have dry mouth. I got all of this after I had knee surgury so I am thinking that they damaged my vocal cords. I am getting better but is was a long journey.
Holly you asked if there is anyone that takes lorazopam with prilosic I know I am spelling that wrong sorry. I do take that but I just take it about an hour later. I tried nexium and all of the others and none of them worked for me the would get me sick like weezy feeling tired. Well a neighbor told me about prilosic(sorry) and I tried it and that seem to not get me sick and it was cheaper. I take the lorazopam to help my troat.
It relaxs it. They doctor said that it was okay to take them together. I asked him because I read the same thing you did.
But I figured I would rather not take them at the same time.

Correction:
It should be 1/2 tee spoon of backing soda, not 1/4. Sorry about that.
(It won't hurt you either way, it's just that the baking soda calms the ACV so you can drink easier)

Holly,
The chocking and swolling problems are not normally associated with GERDs. That is strictly nerves. BEFORE you eat anything, you need to sit down in a quiet peaceful environment, deep breath and relax, give thanks, be calm, and slowly eat and chew your food very carefully. Eat only small amounts. Do not over eat.
Don't be talking on the phone or watching TV or anything exciting or noisey while eating. We are bombarding our senses with too much stimulation while trying to eat. Our mind and body was never designed to handle that.
Also, do not eat anything 3 hours before bedtime. Yes, I know it's hard. I'm still struggling with this one myself. But you really need to pay attentinon to your health right now. Because if you are having GERDs than that is the same as your body telling you that you are not taking good care if it. Time to slow down and relax. You are going to be fine.
God Bless and Peace be with you.

HI eveyone,

I also have acid reflux. I have found my miracle cure. this may not work for everyone but I suffer no longer. It is L-Glutamine, it can be found at pretty much any herbal store. Also aloe vera juice is effective. I keep a bottle in my fridge at all times. Keep in mind that the L-Glutamine takes a few days to work. If anyone out there tries this please let me know, I am very curious to hear if it works for others-Good luck.

Hi Penu,

L-Glutamine, huh? Is this the same capsule as what some people take for joint health? Can I ask what other meds you're on? I also use aloe vera juice, but I can barely gag it down. *YUCK*
