Shelby: 20mg of Celexa =5MG of Lexapro very small dose but if its working good for you
Holly: Ativan side effects are sense of wellbeing, drowsyness, floating sensation, very minor reduction in congnitive thinking, short term memory …and the like…long term use could result in tolerance or interdose withdrawals…which if taken regularly/daily then you would have to increase your dose or very slowly taper off…and I mean slowly…for some people tolerance withdrawals takes 2-3 weeks for some years depends on what you level out at…I wouldn’t recommend daily / benzo drug family for long term: meaning years because it can have some pretty rough withdraws …but if tapered properly I’ve never heard of anyone that does not recover from the withdrawals….
LMM : Ativan is for anxiety effecting your natural Gaba system producing feel good/calming homeostasis…what your body is striving for…

I am pretty new to the program. For so long I thought I was kind of a "crazy" person or something...it's nice to know there are folks out there that understand. It's helpful to me to read the comments posted....it gives me more hope to continue on and take things "day by day" ...I think this process could take me a little longer than 15 wks...does anybody else feel the same way?

anna,
it may take longer then 15 weeks. it might take less. who knos until you apply what you learn and use the skills and tools that you will receive.i went through it in 2003 and finished it in 2004.it took me until 2006 to get to wherei did not have the panic, anxiety, agrophobia, depression, IBS and so much more.

HOLLY,
you said you felt similiar sensations (rising/falling etc), can you tell me if you think it is these medications or your anxiety or otherwise?
Thanks

Hi HOLLY J

i am having a bad couple of days with these symptoms returning. can you share your symptoms of the whooshy rise/fall and how you are thinking about it or when you feel it? you are the only other so far with this particular symptom, and i just want to get past this so i am not obsessing over it every minute.
THANKS SO MUCH!

I wake up in the mornings feeling worse than most of the day.....I feel different not always the same. sometimes its the racing heart and dizzy feelings sometimes it just an overwhelming sense of weakness. I hurry sometimes in the shower dont ask me why but I seem to have this overwhelming sense that something will happen and I have to get out of there fast.

As I begin to wake up I start to feel better but some mornings are rough. I have been going to bed much later these days because the kids are summer break and the days just dont seem to end till around 11pm.....and my kids are up at 6 most mornings. (they go down much earlier than 11 but I have to catch up on the dishes and stuff in the house that I didnt do all day while they were needing me) so I know that lots of what I feel is just being tired.

Another thing for me is that I stress about my health. When my legs feel weak I jump to conclusions that its something serious. If I have a sore throat I immediataly think its strep throat. (Id be at the doctor every week for a throat culture) so that is usually enough to put me into a mini panic.

My program skills help me I try to remember to breath and tell myself its ok.....I try to eat good and I come to chat often so that Im distracted.

Hope it helps you.

Lmm ,
sorry it took me a while to respond. I think that they are from my anxiety. i dont take anti-depressants I only take Ativan and when i feel those sensations i take an Ativan to feel better. The other night i took a melotonin pill to help me sleep. it did make me feel tired BUT it made me get those wooshy rising and falling head sensations and i couldn't sleep because of that. So, I took an Ativan and that knocked me out in a half hour. When i was doing good for a year with no anxiety or depression I didn't have those feelings. . . Also, I do know that i get some meds make those feelings come up or make it worse like for me anti-depressants, anything pm like nyquil or tylenolpm or any sleepaid from the store. . Let me know how youre doing.

Hi Holly J,
thanks so much for your reply. I am still in the middle of this setback of sensations, but today i tried to let it be ok - so it started off tough with heavy limbs and spacey, now at the end of the day i have a bit more energy and not too many rise/fall/unsteady sensations. I have been given Clonazepam to try for anxiety - do you know anything about that? i am scared of medication, so i only take a 1/4 of a pill! i have only tried it a handful of times, and i don't really know if it takes away my sensations. also i have noticed that my back/neck and lower back muscle tension may havesomething to do with the pulling/up/down sensation. do you think so for yourself? or do you think it is a chemical thing?
