Thanks for all the kind words. I guess its the thought of possible cancer or becoming infertile that is so scary, and then having to wait. But yes, positivity is the key. I'll let you know the outcome..

Hi -

My daughter had an ovarian cyst rupture when she was in HS and it was very painful! However, afterwards (they didn't have to do surgery because...it ruptured!) she hasn't had any more problems though and no recurrances.

Of course this is anxiety producing! You should allow yourself to feel the nervousness if you feel that way, but don't go down the "what-if highway"!! This is a scary thing, but don't make it worse by imagining it into something worse than it is! This would not be good for you mentally, emotionally, or physically.

You will make it through this. Float, sweetie!

Keeping you in my prayers,
Dawn

I finally saw a gynea on Friday and what the doc had thought was the tumour / cyst turns out to be my ovaries themselves. Turns out I have PCOS.. Ovaries are swollen and full of little cysts.. Now have to have hormone tests and blood glucose, change my pill and LOSE WEIGHT.. Relieved its nothing too bad, but also not too sure I really want this either...

YEAH!!! That is good news, considering your fears and what-ifs! I am so glad you posted back. Imagine--the doc thought your
OVARY was a cyst/tumor? Goes to show how important second opinions are!

I don't have PCOS, but have heard a lot about it, I think it can be associated with thyroid issues, too, so may want to check that out as it will help with weight loss if it turns out your thyroid is slow. Regardless, this is really good news compared to the scary thoughts, good for you on following through!!

Hugs, Tara :)

I am glad that you found out what it was. I know how scary it can be. I am on the second round of hormones for my cysts and I am feeling rather, well...hormonal. Nothing too bad. I go back next month for more ultrasounds to see if the hormones are working.

Butterfly is right, though, you might want to have your thyroid checked. They found that I had a goiter on my thyroid before they found the cysts. Now they know about the thyroid, but I don't have to take any medication for it right now.

oh my gosh, I have a 2 cm at last check cyst and have been so worried I'll need surgery or it's growing.

i'm going in, in about 4 days to get it checked again.

I hope it's gone or has shrunk!

I've gone through this issue twice already. The first time though, it was not a cyst it was a 9 lb ovarian tumor! From my experience, cysts don't grow very quickly. Have faith in your doctor, they will do what they need to do and you will be okay. I will keep you in my prayers.
