Be Positive, you are going to think I am totally off the wall - but you asked about mind games to put you to sleep. Since I am nocturnal, I try everything - so here is one that works for me. Ready? I start with the alphabet - Example: Andrew married Annie, they have three children, Amy, Archie and Andrea. They live in Appleton where Andrew is an Architect. Then I start with "B". I don't think I have made it past "G" before my I'm asleep. Can't remember.
So far the men in the little white suits have not taken me away.
And of course this is done after my journaling and my prayers (or listening to the tapes).

I don't know if I'm allowed to post this or not, but I feel so depressed I just want to die! I'm on medication to 'help' with my depression, but it is not making it go away. I am in therapy for sexual abuse, and have already had to go to the hospital twice because the depression got so bad I didn't feel 'safe' anymore. Can anyone offer any advice or encouragement?! I feel like I'm hangin' on by a thread!

I don't know if you have the StressCenter.com program or not but if you don't I recommend it to you very strongly. It deals with issues exactly like your's. Lucinda's program will help you overcome those feelings with all the tools that her program teaches. And, yes you are aloud to post something like that. Whenever you feel like that please come here to the forum for support, someone here will definately be willing to give you some encouragement. That's what Lucinda created this forum for. For all of us that have her program, we are all welcome to come here to give encouragement and advice to eachother to help eachother out. Posting here is a great beginning for you, please continue to post anytime you have feelings like that. Whenever someone feels down it's good to know we're not alone. I would also suggest that you contiue to seek professional help in therapy because of the nature of your feelings. There are lots of people on this forum that really sincerely do care from the bottom of there hearts. I hope we continue to hear from you.
My special words of encouragement just for you:
First of all I want to tell you that I know exactly how you feel because I felt just the same way last night. But I took out my tools and read from my workbook and Bible and this is what I found to encourage myself and I'm sending it to you,
I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever- the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17
I found that in Lesson 3 of our study workbook Self Talk: The key to Healthy Self Esteem is where I had to study last night. Which tells us that our negative thughts create our anxiety and fear and that leads to our depression. So we have to change our thoughts to positive thinking and that makes us feel 100% better.
Such as: "Feeling this way is just part of this condition. I am working on getting over this and I will feel normal again."
I hope you get some encouragement from me today, and I'm sure many others will do the same for you. Hang in there Rec!

Your friend, Dee
hello REC
I am so glad you reached out to express your feelings. I know what it feels like to "just want out". Our thoughts are so powerful and at times it feels like there is no hope... BUT THERE IS!!!! There are many people who have been through what we are experiencing and have pulled themselves out with the help of the skills in this program. I have been through this program a few years ago and am now doing it again. I really started to notice how positive thoughts were coming in without me having to TRY SO DAMN HARD!!!. It will come for us. I'm only on week 2 so I too have a long way to go, but I'm seeing so much strength in people on this site that it helps to push me forward.
Please express your feelings as much as you want. That's what everyone is here for. When you are having an OK day and there is ANYTHING positive that you have done or experienced, post that as well. I think this web-site is a great form of journaling.
Are you using the program right now? What week are you on?
I look forward to "hearing" from you.
