Hi Everyone :) :) :)
Someone sent me an email wanting to know how to rid one self of all fears!!! This is a great way to do it, once and for all!!!

First of all, you need to get a pen and paper and write down each and every single fear and work on one fear at a time!!! Then try doing the following, until you have it down pact!!!

Below is an example...

I have a fear of driving...

Question...So, you have a fear of driving...
Answer...Yes...

Question...So, why are you so scared of driving...
Answer...I don't know...

Question...There has to be some reason that you are so scared of driving..
Answer...I think it is because I am afraid of passing out under the wheel due to a panic attack....

Question...So, your real fear is passing out..
Answer...Yes, I guess so!!!

Question...Have you ever passed out before..
Answer...No..

Question...So, what evidence has caused you to come to this conclusion..
Answer...None...

Question...So, you have no evidence to support your data on passing out...

Answer...No, I have no evidence at all...

Question...So, what are the chances that you will pass out...
Answer...I don't have any evidence..

Question...So, the bottom line is that you have no evidence at all to support your claim of the fear of passing out....
Answer...Yes...

Question...So, on a scale of 0-10, what are the chances that you will ever pass out...
Answer...Very low...probably 0, since, I have no evidence at all to support my claim!!!

Question...Do you see how "unrealistic" this fear really is..
Answer...Yes, I can see that it is a very "unrealistic" fear...

Question...So, what are you going to do with this "irrational" fear...
Answer....Ditch it...LOL..

I pray that each of you who need "extra help" do this with each and every single fear or worry, which pops into your mind!!!

In no time at all, you will find that almost everything you fear or worry about has no evidence to support your claims, so almost all of your fears and worries are unfounded and "very irrational"....

I pray that God blesses every single person on this forum on their journey to recovery!!! Much Love in Christ Jesus!!!

Hi deedee,
You can do the very same thing with each of your worries and fears!!! Anyone can question their own thoughts!!! I am no therapist, nor have I ever had any type of therapist training!!!

It takes just a "very small" amount of practice, nothing more!!!

I pray that everyone does this one, since it helps tremendously!!! God Bless You Deedee!!!

I can fully relate to this!
I don´t own a car, so I only drive every now and then. I live in Germany, where you can drive more than twice as fast on the roads and highways than in America. It´s really scary! Imagine my anxiety when I drove on a highway for the first time after a long period, I wanted to visit my friend and therefore borrowed my Mums´old Japanese car. Unfortunately I chose to take the highway during the rush hour... cars rushing by with 100 m/ph... !!! I got a panic attack when a big truck came so close and blew his horn because I was too slow, although he wasn´t allowed to drive faster than I was, anyway (about 50 m/ph)!!! This behaviour was absolutely irresponsible but typical for truck drivers on German roads, and it scared me so much that I was really afraid of losing control of the car and crash...
I thank God I could finish my way without an accident, but I felt devastated, and since then I haven´t dared to drive on the highway anymore...

But what about situations where you can really only hope that nothing happens, like my friend going on trips with his motorbike in summer? I have no control, all I can do is pray that he will return safely. He is a good driver and a level-headed person, but there are enough idiots behind the wheels that can put you into danger...and as I said, here in Germany you don´t have the speed levels like in the USA... I love him so much, and I know that the next motorbike season will cost me a lot of nerves again... how can I deal with these fears?

Hi GardenFairy:
I think that in your case that you will just have to exercise your faith.
Also some acceptance of your particular situation.
My son sometimes rides his motorcycle to work thru' and around Fort Worth. Very heavy traffic. Without a helmet.
He has had radiation along his jaw-line and the helmet hurts him.

So what I have had to do is accept that he will do this and just practice faith. Because I can't change the situation.

I hope you can gain some peace about your friend.

Wow!!! Cornflower, I totally agree with you!!! My son loves his motorcycle and he also loves driving it very fast, which can be very scary!!!

How do I deal with this??? I pray that God places "legions" of angels around him to protect him every single day of his life!!!

I trust in HIM that is able to do all things in Heaven and on earth!!! There is absolutely nothing that I can do, so I leave him in God's hands!!!

If I didn't then, I would be sick from worry!!!

I have learned that there are soooo many "rational" things that we could absolutely worry ourselves "sick" over, and it would not change one single thing!!!

If worrying could change things, then every single one of us would have a perfect life, because I am sure that each of us have done our share of that one!!!

We pray for our loved ones and then just "let go and let God"

He is more than able to protect those we love!!!
He is Almighty and All Powerful and HE knows how much we love our children!!!

I also strongly believe in asking God to place a "hedge" around our loved ones!!! This is Biblical and I put it into practice!!!

I thank God for those angels that He sends to protect those we trust in His care!!!

This is such a great topic because these are very "rational" fears and only God (Himself) has the power to do all of these things!!!

We could worry our self into a stupor, and nothing may never happen to our children, or it might...

The thing is...Worry has never and will never change anything...It is a control issue...We think if we worry enough, that somehow we can prevent things from happening...

I say, "Pray, let go and let God"...That is my motto!!! Trust the One who blessed us with our children to take excellent care of them!!!

I know this posting is a little "repetitive" but, I feel like I can not emphasize enough how important this topic is to all of us (as parents)!!!

Let Go and Let God....God Bless!!!
