Hello all...reaching out for some support here I am really struggling with this symptom.

I have had anxiety for almost 3 years (I am 27 now). I am overweight but I am losing weight gradually (down almost 80 pounds!) but I am still overweight. My greatest fear is I am going to just have a heart attack or aneurysm or something bad!

I have been to the doctor and given a fully battery of tests and all of them are normal.

I have been occasionally having a sensation where I feel a tickle in the chest and the back of my throat. It is a very unusual sensation and it just feels so odd and foreign and simply scares me to death.

I was talking with my nurse practicioner about it and he firmly believes it is either a irritated nerve (due to anxiety) or possibly acid reflux.

I have had a full cardiac work up and my heart is perfectly healthy. I recently had my labs done and my labs are great across the bored.

But whenever this tickle comes it scares the crap out of me. The weird thing is I've had PAC's/PVC's (skipped beats) and this tickle sensation feels totally different so I do not think it is that at all but I am not sure. This tickle sensation this evening lasted for hours and my pulse was completely regular during that time (except for slightly faster at times when I was really stressed).

I am so scared...I am having a hard time with this symptom. I am working on session 3 so far but this is scaring me pretty bad.

Just wanting some support...thankyou all!
I think therefore I am...

Hi there,

I was thinking this is probably more related to your throat/esophagus area than your heart area. And since you have had all the tests and labs and everything is fine, it is not your heart. Perhaps, you should think about asking your doctor to refer you to a GI specialist in order to look at your throat and related areas. Sometimes acid reflux can do weird and wonderful things. I know it did in my case before I started taking meds for it. Now, it's okay. I have PVC's as well but now that I know what they are I don't worry about them anymore. Again, acid reflux can play some strange tricks. Try and get it checked out, and relax, your heart is fine. Good luck and keep at those lessons!
