Thanks Jennifer.

That was well said and definitely something to think about :) I know there is a connection there to anxiety and also low blood sugar. I guess most people feel weird when they need to eat. I have to be pretty diligent about eating.

Are you on meds for anxiety? I have been considering lexapro, but I am a little scared of ssri's.

Thanks again for your input.

Coco :)

Hey, I have had the exact problems that you said for about 7 years (actually 7 years today)My balance was way worse and sometiimes I could not even walk, but anywys it is very debilitating and hard to deal with, but let me tell yo0u that the chiroprater helped me 90% and was the only one to help besides the physical therapist who specialized in vestibular disorder. If you wanna talk let me know. Christi

Thanks Christi,

Did you have a vestibular disorder or were you just sent to a physical therapist who specialized in it?

I am so glad to hear you are feeling so much better!!

Coco,
You didn't say if you were on any meds. I have been experiencing the dizzies for a few months. I have dropped my anti-depressant dosage in half and according to a website on the matter lots of people wrote in and mentioned thatis one of the side effects. I hope you figure it out. It's always helpful when you have answers so you know what to do next. Keep searching you'll hit on something sooner or later. Best to you.

Hello guys!!I too have this problem.Sometimes I'll just spin and other times I just feel off balanced. It seems to be worse around that time of month. This also drives me crazy!!I had two sets of thorough blood work done two years ago.The Dr. could find nothing.I relate mine to anxiety because it'll happen alot of the time when I try and go into a store or around people.I have severe agoraphobia! It is a weird feeling though. My suggestion is that if you've been checked out and everything is ok than don't focus on it.I know this is hard but if we go into the "what-ifs" it only makes it worse.A lot of people have stated that they have the dizzy feeling on their posts. That should tell us that it must definately come with anxiety disorder.Like deedee00 said you can't be afraid of these symptoms if you want them to go away.I'm getting pretty tierd of being so afraid all the time.I'm starting to let go and just trust. My body feels really tierd lately but I pretty sure that it's from all the anxiety that I've put it through for so long.I'm just letting it relax and trying hard not to worry about this either.I eat healthy and have know other symptoms with the dizziness so i figure a lot of it is just my bodies response to the anxiety.Take care.Relax if you haven't been allowing yourself to.God Bless!!

No I am not on meds, I have never tried them.
My doctor would like me to try ativan.
He said if I try it and the dizziness goes away the I will know it is anxiety related.
Has anyone had that experience?
He has also mentioned Lexapro.

My concern is that the dizziness is chronic.
It has been a little over a year now.
So part of me says......hummmm this is a real problem the other side says it will go away eventually just like all those other symptoms that you were so afraid of and convinced were a medical issue!!

I really appreciate everyones input and ideas, it really helps me to keep things in perspective and look at the situation from different angles.

I've had issues with dizziness for at least 15 years. In my case, I'm not really dizzy but my head is spinning...I sometimes refer to it as whooshing. Like my head is whooshing...silly huh? I have met a few people along the way who have the same feeling. My whooshing is stress related. It is annoying but overall harmless to my health. It was really bad when I weaned off Paxil and Effexor.

I have tried Adovan (ativan?) during periods of stress and it really helped get me through.

Try it as per your doctor's recommendation, even if it doesn't help it will give you some more info.

I have been having a dizzy and generally unsteady feeling for some time now. I am on a low dose of med and a possible side effect can be dizziness so I keep blaming that, however, it seems like I had this problem before I started the med. I also suffer from allegies and some sinus problems so I am wondering if dizziness can be coming from that also. Anyway, It is a horrible feeling and I can totally relate!!!

Hi there! I didn't read every single post so I hope I'm not repeating. I know exactly what you are describing and actually I've been getting it more frequently lately. Most of it (for me) is caused by stress, but the other is caused by allergies. I went through a 2 year period several years ago of being dizzy 24/7 and then getting those jolts like you describe. Had every test you could think of including inner ear, eyes, neurologists (MRI) etc...all came out fine. It ended up being (after searching endlessly myself because my drs were no help after a while and told me just to live with it). a vitamin I was on. It wasn't FDA approved and was supposed to be natural part of honey or something. Well, because it wasn't FDA approved they didn't have to clean it as good I guess you can say so they didn't have to screen all the pollen out of it. I was literally ingesting pollen daily. Once I got off of them it stopped, but now I have seasonal allergies, which I never had an issue with before. Just something else to consider if you haven't already. I hope you feel better soon...dizzies are no fun especially those that come out of the blue.
