Hi,

I have the same problem, my neck and back and arms hurt, sometimes so bad I cant lift them. It is muscle tension,

R.Younger, how long did it take for you to find out it was fibro? Mine seems to come and go depending on my stress level. My neck is always so tence. It is awful sometimes. I have been dealing with this for about 3 months. I started to see a chriopracter and massage seems to help.

Good luck to both of you.

I've got those in my left shoulder and back. I'm constantly lifting a baby too, though. It's painful, but nothing to worry about as far as something being horribly wrong. They may give you some muscle relaxers, but be careful on taking them with something like Xanax as you may get really woozy. Your body may take a few weeks to heal, but it will get there. Good luck!

Hi Misti, Yes I too suffer terribly from muscle spasms. Mine have gotten worse over the years from Fibromyalgia. They are in my feet, calves, ribs, abdomen, hands, and can come on out of nowhere day, night, awake asleep, doesn't matter. I was on a prescription drug for it and it helped a lot but since we have no drug benefits now I have stopped taking it and the spasms are back again...I have tried over the counter muscle relaxers without any relief so am just putting up with them for now. I really hope you get something for relief of this...they aren't pleasant to live with.
Good Luck

Hi Debbie, nice to meet you. Many different beliefs but can tell you that my Fibro started after i had Epstien Barr Virus. My depression came from I believe a nuber of things that were happening in my life. My fibro pain would get so bad that i didn't want to live anymore because if living meant suffering the way I was I just couldn't imagine the days, weeks, months and years of this kind of pain. I remember the day I was so frightened by my suicidal thoughts that I just had my husband take me to my doctor ( didn't have an appointment ) and I told my doctor i was suicidal and needed help. Now he said that pain, insomnia, depression, were like a circle and that it just keeps going around and around. I was very involved in sites dealing with Fibro, Depression, etc. and most people who had fibro also had depression and suicidal thoughts from the pain. Many had been abused in some way/ ways as children or adults or both. Some had been in car accidents and developed Fibro then depression. Fibro like Depression and Anxiety has such deep impacts on our lives that I believe one can feed or lead to the other. There is still so much that is unknown about all these illnesses but will never give up hope for a cure. One thing more is that many foods, changes in weather, stress etc. affect my fibro pain badly and am sure foods can comfort us or are just bad for us and make us ill in ways we don't always know. Ok I wrote a novel here and not sure if it was helpfull for you. You can ask me anything you want about fibro and I will share all I know through living with it and knowing so many others with it. Always here to help anyone if i can. Be kind to your body.

Awesome post debbie and montysmom. Debbie, I was diagnosed with fibro after a year or so of tests to rule out any other serious dis-eases that mimic fibro. I have a history of PMDD,TMJ,Migraine headaches, and this odd migratory pain that comes and goes, moves all around my body to different places at different times. It is aweful. Having a history of anxiety and depression were also a part of my history. Finally after ruling out all the big stuff, she diagnosed me with fibro and secondary CFS. Some doctors are now suggesting that they are one in the same. Who knows!!! LOL. All I know is they all seem to go hand in hand, at least in my life. I was too a victim of rape, and severe physical and mental abuse. :o

I did read a book however that I recommend to any one dealing with this kind of illness....Freedom From Fibromyalgia. That book combined with this program has truelly rehabilitated(spelling???) me. And of course by the grace of my God 0:) Hope this helps, Luvs, Kitten

Hi All,
Won't it be wonderfull when we can one day post on here how great we all feel compared to how we are now!!!
Leaving so much baggage and other things in a far away place and finally enjoing life to it's fullest. I'm sure that as we learn to relax and stop all the negative thoughts, actions, reactions to others toxicity and so many more bad things we do to ourselves both subconsiously and on a conscious level each day that our Fibro, CFS, TMJ, IBS, Migraines, PTSD, muscle spasms, and so on will greatly subside. That's truly my WISH for everyone.
I tried again to do the stretching exercise last night as I just couldn't seem to relax and drift off to sleep but OMG the spasms started in my right foot then my calf and I was almost screaming in pain and had to keep putting my foot on the floor to get m calf muscle to release. I woke up a few times through the night with it. NOT NICE !
This morning my muscles feel as though they were shortened some how. LOL....i hope I dont start getting shorter...just kidding of course. Or am I, would like to add an inch not lose it.
I have had fibro now since 1991- was not diagnosed until 1996. I know a lady who has had it since she was 9 years old. She had been so brutilized by her Dad physically and Mom mentally and physically. She was really so bad she has been in a wheel chair, then arm, neck and leg braces, and through the miracle of a very good doctor and med she was walking, driving, using a computer, and cooking again. She had it worse than anyone else I knew that didn't also have MS, Lupus, RA, etc. She is now on the newest drug for fibro...Lyrica I think. Last I talked to her she was doing pretty good. We are many miles apart and since I shut down the fibro sites we don't talk a lot anymore. She also was a very depressing person and angry most of the time..understandable but it was really bringing me down badly as she wouldn't listen to anyone who tried to help her. We al thought she had developed a love for the attention she got from her problems she wouldn't fix (and could have). She also didn't help others who needed emotional support. I know she would have felt better had she done so. I sure did. Oh well enough about that..water under the bridge.
Must feed my 4 dogs..they are all starring at me. LOL
Talk soon, Deborah
