Tomorrow I have to go to the dentist and get two wisdom teeth pulled. I'm terrified. I don't think I was this afraid the last time I went to get my other wisdom teeth pulled. I went in, I was scared but not horrified. I'm obsessing about it. Having a multitude of what if thoughts. I come close to having a panic attack every time I think about it. Any advice?

Hey Tye,
I think you should focus on some good thoughts & do some relaxation breathing. I have always hated going to the dentist but remember you have made it through before & you will make it through this time. Good Luck :D

I also HIGHLY suggest to you that you ask them NOT to give you epinephrine in your numbing medication. I had this done 4 yrs ago and thought my heart would come out of my chest. There is such thing as Lidocaine WITHOUT epinephrine, and it won't cause such heart racing, which will induce panic......hope it helps.

I agree about asking for the medicine without the epinephrine, I was a little scared about getting my wisdom tooth pulled, but when they gave me the medicine with epinephrine...OMG I could NOT stop shaking. If I hadn't had that I think I would have made it through fine with my breathing. Good luck to you.

When I had mine done they took all four out at once, but they knocked me out, I did not feel a thing, I asked them when they were going to do it when I woke up. I knew that if I did not have them all done at once I would not go back.

Just a little advice, do not drink anything with a straw, and do not smoke if you do. You do not want to get dry sockets because, boy is that painful, I wish someone would have told me, Using a straw, you are sucking in air which can cause them.

Good luck you will be just fine.

Thanks everyone for you comments. They really helped. My appointment is in a few hours so I'm going to do my relaxation CD, and practice my positive thoughts.
