Hello vsp,
Are you on the program? It's helped me so much but it is work. It's not an over the night cure. If you don't have it, get it. And if you do, use it. You say you want to control your anxiety, well this is the way. Be willing to throw yourself into it. Learn the skills and apply them. You will get the results you're looking for. I hope this helps.
All my best,
Inside Man

vsp,

Could you give us any more details about how you need help? It's really hard to help someone or give advice without any details.

You are going to be ok. How can we help you?

Hi Im vsp. I am just now getting the courage to tell you more. I have chronic pain that has really taken me down. I had two very bad anxiety attacks in a week. One sending me to the doctor and the other to the emergency room. I know some of the pain has been brought by anxiety. Now I need help in learning how to control the anxiety. I have ordered the program and just started session three. It has been so good for me, and now I am working on it, and would like anyone with chronic pain or anxiety to help me.

vsp,
i know how you feel as far as having pain every day. if its not one pain its another and they are constantly changing. i have alot of neck pain (sides of my neck near my pulses) and head pain, numbness in arms and hands, etc. im really trying to convince myself that its all from the anxiety but im finding it very hard. docs say they cant find anything wrong with me so i geuss i just have to have some faith. im on session 7 of the program and see alot of progress with the anxiety but not much difference in physical symptoms :( ive been suffering like this since october of 2006 and am very tired physically and mentally. feel free to email me or IM me anytime to talk more in depth if youd like. hang in there. breathe,do lots of positive self talk, and stick with the program. good luck to you!

take care

These are great suggestions. I too have a lot of pain, well I did before a lot more. Now that I've finished the program for the first time, it's much, much less. Can anxiety and or depression cause the aches and pains? It was hard for me to believe but YES! And, only time could prove it to me. The more you dwell on all those pains and aches (so long as you've been to the doctor and they've said it's not life threatening, like I had 4 emegency room visits) then the more you're going to feel them. I started the program again this week, and am picking up more than I did the first time; it's so good for you-
Best of Luck!

vsp -I have chronic pain from repetitive strain syndrome from being on a computer for so many years. I got tired of the surgeries so have not had any more. I have noticed that when I am done with the relaxation tape my muscles are so much more relaxed that I don't notice the pain at all. I am now doing my own biofeedback for this - As soon as I notice my muscles tensing I recall the relaxation techniques and make a conscious effort to relax everything. This works for me, but I know it depends on what kind of pain you are experiencing and how bad the pain is. Have you tried biofeedback by a professional?

I have Interstitial cystitis. It causes chronic pain. Part of my anxieties started this time around from dealing with this disorder. Anxieties seem to make me more hyper sensitive/aware of my pain symptoms.

The funny thing is, I had my symptoms pretty much under control, until I let my anxieties get the best of me. I now am on some meds for my chronic pain problem that actually makes my anxieties and insomnia worse. Talk about a vicious cycle. Where do I get off of this hamster wheel I am on?!?!

I have the program and am on lesson 3. I was improving and doing better, but the meds for my pain problem seem to have made me back slide last night. I keep telling myself lesson 3 is the key to these problems. I am forcing myself to get out and enjoy the nice weather we are having here. Keeping my mind in the now, and off of my anxieties and pain as much as possible.

I wish you luck

Dwelling on problems makes them worse.

Thanks to all of you. i will always have chronic because of a staph infection that I had fives years ago. It ate a hole in my spine, then went up to my brain causing Mengitis. the reults: Arachnoiditis, caused nerve pain. I finally gave into anxiety. You have helped with your words of encouragement, and I am still in the program, ready to go to session 4. It has heped.
