Okay, long story short. I've had panic disorder for 3 years, and anxiety before that. I was doing really well, no meds except for .5 xanax/day, then 3 months ago I had a bad panic attack where I thought I was going to pass out. Ever since then I have had this not-quite-dizzy, off balance, spacey feeling which is CONSTANT (it varies from better to worse but NEVER goes away), and my ears are ALWAYS buzzing or ringing. Sometimes I get headaches with it and sometimes it feels like my vision goes wonky.

I have seen 2 family docs and an ear doc. I went to the best ear guy in the state and he said there was nothing wrong. None of my docs think I need an MRI.

I just want to know if
1) anyone else has this
2) does it go away
3) how do you make it go away?

THANKS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Sandina

i am SO GLAD you posted...that is exactly what i have!! i feel like i am going to fall over...like the world is tipped, i feel dizzy, and although it is worse when im in an axious situation, it occurs when im relaxed and doing nothing!!! so frustrating!!! I also went to the dr, yesterday actually, after 2 years of this...and we did tests and i am going back for the ear dr and a echocardiogram. I am sure i am going to hear the same thing from my dr!!

Anyway, I have learned to deal with it a lot better lately. it happens all the time so i have learned some things to help me. first, there are good days and bad days....the good days are when i have the gross feelings, but i ignore them. I tell myself its just my anxiety, and i try to relax...i really honostly just distract myself and try to ignore it and eventually, you don't notice it as much....even though it is still there...

the bad days are when i get overwhelmed with the feelings and think those negative thoughts...the "i will never get better' "why do i feel like this"...on those days it is hard to deal with and i usually become somewhat depressed...which is why i am here...to learn how to deal with this better...

anyway...all i can really say is to try to distract yourself and switch ur brain off to those feelings...when i get the instant dizziness or off balance spacey feelings i usually go do something, take deep breaths, and jump up to do something...sometimes i just lay down and take a nap....it occurs more when i am tired....does this happen to u?!

i hope this helps but i can't help too much cuz i am obviously here for the same reason! i hope this program will help these feelings....

ps...i also think those feelings are from the panic attack...and then we focus on how our body feels. I had a panic attack when giving blood 2 years ago and i almost fainted...scariest feeling ever so ever since then i focus on how my body feels and am constantly worrying that i am going to faint...and those feelings are associated with it.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for at least letting me know that I am not alone!!!! You know, as much as I hate my symptoms, knowing it's anxiety kinda helps. I mean, it makes it easier for me to tell myself "you may feel like crap but you're not going to die". On the other hand, I do sometimes get depressed by it because it's not like having panic attacks... it's always there. I had just learned how to deal with the panic attacks and WHAMMO... new symptom!

As for it being there when I am tired, yeah I can say that at the end of the day it's worse, and I have noticed that as soon as I wake up in the morning is when I notice it the least.

Do you have the ringing in the ears?

Good luck with your appointment, and let me know if you find out anything!!!

Merry Christmas & God Bless,
Sandina

One other thing...

My big frustration with this symptom is that the doctors have so far been able to offer me a pill or a remedy for all of my other symptoms: heart palapatations, racing heart, moodiness, fatigue, etc., but there seems to be nothing they can do to alleviate this one. Even though I know my anxiety and whatever is causing it is the actual cause of my symptoms, it does help when you can do something about them temporarily!

Yes! Very common. I had it pretty bad for a while. I get it from time to time still. It is to me, anxiety. Your out of balance. Literally. My vision tends to get blurred also. I thought I was getting old or something was wrong.

If you were to visit a Dr. who by chance viewed your sinuses, he may say you were congested or your potassium was low, low blood sugars, low blood pressure...so on, so forth. All of the physical reasons for haivng these symtoms may very well be there, BUT, the reason for our physical health being out of balance stems from our mental heath. So, that is where I would start. ;)

Energy fields in our body regulate what we are susceptible to. Everything from a cold to cancer. Look into Chakras. You'd be amazed at what a difference you can do for yourself, when you learn how to balance your energy fields. If there's a blockage as an example, one may have extreme anxiety and or depression. Once you understand the energy fields (proven in science) you can understand which area of emotions they control within your body. It's been a life saver for me.

Basically, finding peace with yourself and others can balance your energy, bring about happiness and improve your health and well being. Meditation is the best medicine availble. Lucinda's relaxation tape can be used as well. Surrounding yourself in a healing light while meditating is VERY powerful! I have been wound tight, anxious and out of sorts, to find after a meditation period, I would come to feeling much relief. Message me anytime if you'd like a list of books I've read on the subject. :)

Hi Sandina,
I have mostly fatigue and depression, but I do have your exact symptoms when I am overwhelmed or extremely stressed (except for the blurry vision). I also have ringing of the ears which is much worse during those times of stress. Have you started any new meds since your panic attack 3 months ago? It's hard to believe that all of those symptoms are only from anxiety, but I suppose the fact that I have those exact symtpoms when I am overly stressed would support that theory.

Are you open to seeing a chiropractor? I have noticed that chiropractors are very knowledgeable about natural healing, and I do feel better when I am seeing one. (My problem is I am so tired I have a hard time motivating myself to go).

I hope you feel better soon and that this program is the answer for you!

P.S. I had a therapist tell me once that those symptoms are also signs of shock. That "out of body" feeling. Perhaps your body is kind of shutting down since the panic attack, "protecthing itself" from another? Just a thought ...

Hey Sandina
I occasionally have the ringing in the ears also but I never associated it with the other symptoms...but I did tell my dr about it and will find out more when i go to the ear dr.

I also feel depressed sometimes because it is there all the time and sometimes I just become overwhelmed with the feelings and want to crawl in a hole. So I feel ya there too!

I also have the heart palpatations and didn't know I could take medicine for them...they really freak me out!! Maybe when I go back i'll ask about this...but at the same time I am scared to take meds because then I worry about the side effects you know!?

Thanks for the Christmas wish and have a happy new year!!!
