I don't always get a full blown panic attack but quite often after I eat I'll start feeling symptoms of anxiety and sometimes it does turn into a full blown attack. Does anybody else experience this? It doesn't really seem to matter what I eat, it's just the eating that seems to trigger it.

I've occasionally had the same issue after eating. My doctor told me that due to not eating regular small meals during the day and it affects your blood sugar. And I know that changes in your blood sugar can make you jittery and alittle anxious.

That is how my anxiety started. After I would eat my heart rate would go up and it scared me so then it would sometimes turn into a panic attack. I have heard that when you eat your heart has to work harder to digest your food and where we have anxiety we are overly sensitive to it. I know how you feel, I find it so hard to even enjoy the foods that I eat because I am afraid of how I will feel afterwords. Just know that it wont hurt you it is just really uncomfortable. I just try to float through it. If you need anything just let me know.

I have a fear of throwing up, so I sometimes get anxious after eating, but I think its because I'm afraid of throwing up.

what is scaring you when you eat, there is obviously some fear of something there, have u had a bad expierence recently or in the past with some food being bad and causing u to get sick? do you have a fear of vomiting? or maybe u are just fearing the possibility of getting ahold of some bad food, etc. i know i was real bad in the beginning and i have many people with the same symptom. how i got over the most of it was by eating real small amounts at a time and seeing that i wasnt gonna get sick. then eventually it will go away. remember always that fear is what gives panic power. try not to be afraid. hugss to you and good luck!..

I'd recommend looking into a low glycemic diet. Your doctor should be able to help you out. Tell him the problem you're experiencing; he'll probably want to take a blood sample to run a few tests.

In the mean time, monitor your food and how you feel afterwards. Keep a written journal describing it!

i can actually relate to this! about two years ago when i started with this problem i had anxiety so bad that every time i would eat i would get anxious so i though that after i ate i had to throw up the food to get it out because it was making me sick, or i just wouldnt eat at all to avoid the panic afterwards.. im 5'1" and i used to be very athletic and always was a healthy weight or 115 and i ended up getting down to 98lbs because of my anxiety! eating scared me to death because it deff made it worse, i was then okay for two years after that and just this summer after i came back from a horrible trip to italy i came back with my problem again.. my psychiatrist now weighs me and ive been eating now just because i know how unhealthy i was and i dont want to turn out with another eating disorder.. it kind of wears off when your anxiety starts to get better! you can do it, if you have any more questions let me know!

Yes, I can absolutely relate. I too have lost lots of weight in the past year. I was a healty 123 pounds at 5'4 and I went down to 100 pounds.

My doc told me to eat often and just a bit. I work from home so it's easier than if you work outside of your home. This has been working well for me. I eat all day!! I never have a full blown meal and I never feel 'full' so I'm not so scared about being ill.

In the past 6 months, I have gained about 3 pounds which doesn't sound like much but I am encouraged, at least I haven't lost any!!

Perhaps you can try this...eating just a bit, all day long.

Good luck to you.
