I have been doing so well with my anxiety, and panic attacks. But all of a sudden it is trying to creep back in. I was wondering what advice anybody can give to help with this. I wake up in the middle of the night in panic and then I keep thinking what if it gets like before...and that is the scary part. Please anybody with help/tips or advice I would greatly apprecitae...

Hi Amy; Don't let that scare you because I found that the middle-of-the-night scaries are (for me anyway)that my blood sugar is low and I keep a sandwich ready if that happens. Make sure there is protein (turkey for me)and fat (mayo for me)in your sandwich. I am up right now because of that but I know that my snack will work in about 15-30 minutes and I can go back to sleep. I have, in the past, added more fear and just about scared myself to death to the point of uncontrollable shaking but when my nutritionist suggested I try that it made a big difference. The idea is that your blood sugar drops which floods you with adrenaline to get the blood sugar back up (a natural body response)and the adrenaline gives you a panic feeling. Of course that scares you if you don't understand what the heck is happening. It worked for me and I hope it works for you. I ate my (1/2) sandwich 10 minutes ago and I am starting to hype down already. Back to bed.... Good luck!

p.s. actually Amy, have a sandwich before bed and see if you can head it off completely. Maybe then you won't wake up at all.

I agree with low blood sugar causing the problem because I experienced it just a few days ago. Until now I'd thought it was just another panic attack, but now I recall that I had barely eaten anything that evening. If you're like me and don't like to eat when you're anxious, try not to give in to that.
