Here is my dilema....I do ok with anxiety and panic when I am not alone. I can go anywhere and do anything as long as I am not alone. I am not afraid to have a panic attack when I am with someone.....but when I am alone.....it scares me to death.....then of course when I am alone I have more anxiety and sometimes that leads to panic....sometimes not....I work really hard on positive self talk but the anxiety is always there.....this has been going on for many many too many years. Any other suggestions? I go to work and drive alone but sometimes there is anxiety and sometimes not...I never know how it is going to be .... I work really hard at letting go but when the anxiety is there it is a real challenge. It is just so exhausting.

I have read a lot of the postings and they are all so helpful....thank you for being here.

I would say just don't try to focus so much on when you have anxiety. When you feel nervous and bad, just tell yourself, alright, i'm not feeling that great right now, that's okay, it will pass. If you get anxious when your by yourself, it will end. If you don't make a big deal out of the anxiousness then it won't last as long. Try to remind yourself that you are the same exact person when you are with someone else, then when you are by yourself.

Petra,

Perhaps if you schedule time alone as practice, and use the techniques in the program while doing so this would help. I don't know, just an idea, perhaps if you took this approach then you are taking some control over the issue you are having and working on it.
