Hi all, wanting to know if I'm alone here. It seems my PRIMARY symptom of anxiety is nausea and loss of apetite. I lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks with my last battle, until I went back on meds. But even on 2mgs a day of Klonopin and starting Lexapro, I am still anxious/thus nauseas, thus anxious, etc. Its like I have a phobia of starving to death or something. Anyone else have this? I've had blood sugars checked, etc. I feel like they are low, but they will be like 90s and normal, but Im shaky and know I need to eat, but feel so awful.
One day at a time is the fastest we can go......

Yes I know what youre talking about. I lost 12 pounds. I really want to gain weight. I had this fear that I'd never eat again . . Of course it's just a fear and this will pass. My anxiety/depression makes me nauseous too. I eat ginger and drink ginger tea. It helps my nausea. Just take it slowly. It is very hard for me to gain weight too. . I have IBS so i think even when i eat I lose it fast. This is just a fear! It will pass. I never thought mine would pass but it did. A lot of people feel nauseous and dont eat much at all when anxious and many people lose a lot of weight because of this. Its ok though. If you cant really eat solids I recommend trying Ensure Plus. It is a nutrional shake that helps you gain and maintain weight. Comes in vanilla, strawberry and chocolate and it can even be used as a meal supplement. I drink 2 a day. I really like it a lot and I know that even if it doesnt help me gain weight it is healthy for my body and gives me some nutrition. Don't be afraid. I've been there!

Want2feelgoodagain, When I went thru my first anxiety attack period this year, I lost 10 lbs in two weeks. I felt the same way you are feeling. After a little while, i was able to start eating again. Now I am trying to control my sugars. I hope it helps to know that you are not alone. I know that finding that out was so helpful to me.

I'm sorry to hear about the weight loss for you. I can relate. I am tiny! (126.5 LBS at 5'8") I agree with HollyJ on this one. When you are too anxious to eat, you need a meal replacement you can drink. At least you will be getting the nutrients you need. You can go with Ensure, I personally recommend "Perfect Meal" by Garden of Life products. (Has a lot of protien) Go to Gardenoflife.com to see where your local stores are if you want to try it. This company makes all natural products. I opt for these whenever I can. The company was founded by a christian man who was deathly ill, and when he got better he devoted his life to wellness, he wrote the book "The Maker's Diet." (Based on health principles out of the Bible and not any current fads or opinions.) I love their products...but at this point any meal replacement would be a plus for you. Be blessed.

Well at the time I just couldnt eat really. Just didn't have an appetite. But this yr \\I am dealing more with the feelings of not being able to swallow. I am hungry (not as much as when i am not so anxious) but just afraid of choking on my food. . But I am dealing with it and it gets better. FrancesL i will look up that "perfect meal" sounds good!!!
