Does anyone know if anxiety can make your white blood cells low? I had a blood test and my white count came back low, so they did a bone biopsy which came back normal, they just said I didn't have any iron in my bones, which is normal for pre-menepausal women. Has anyone experieced this and do you know how to increase them?

I'm surprised Jamika that your Doctors didn't advise you on how to increase your white cell count.......Perhaps taking some iron supplements since there doesn't appear to be any, along with calcium supplements to help the bones absorb the iron, and perhaps some red meat...beans....

Hope it helps

Thanks. They said to take some iron but, they didn't know if it would increase the white blood count. They usually advise to take iron for anemia or a low red blood count. But, I will try that... thanks.

hi Jamika
I also have a low white blood cell count since my daughter's birth in 02. I had post partum depression and since then i could not get my white cell count up to normal levels. I do think it has a lot to do with anxiety because our immune systems become compromised when we are stressed. My doctor says it has nothing to do with it. Iron is really only needed if you have low red count. I take vitamins, try to exercise and eat properly and i really have not had any colds or other viruses. I am only anxious all the time.
Take care of yourself,
Miniol
