Its hardly surprising I have anxiety, I am really really negative, I always have been, I have been told I have a chip on my shoulder, I always see the negatives in everything, never any positives, I come on here and everyone is so nice and friendly. Can anyone relate to me? I have been through session 3 but to be honest I'm not really buying it. HELP

Hey, dj, I used to be the exact same way. I had road rage, I used to flip out in an instant, and people really did not like being around me when I acted like this. Going through the program about five years ago cured me of all this. You have to get out of the negativity. It will keep you from reaching your breakthrough. It is hard at first, but keep working at it. :)

The truth here is yes, the program does work. Why? There are endless years of research which back this up, but a quick one-book read which will illustrate and explain why it works is a book called Change your brain, change your life. After you read this, you may want to restart your program and really work it, Session One through Fifteen. And I hope you do. Sorry to hear about all your negativity. You can change. You just have to roll up your sleeves and get to work. What happens? With use of the CD's, DVD's and especially the homework (as in you do the homework), you begin changing neurotransmitters in your brain. Your body biology actually changes because your chemistry is changing. Life doesn't change that much, it still happens, but your POV, your thinking about life, your attitude, those will be different. Best wishes.

When we have been used to negative focusing for so long positive thinking seems foreign and unrealistic to us. It seems we have bought into this way of being and may even feel that any positive statements we say to ourselves are lies. We may never think to question the fact that all the negative thoughts may be the real lies. This is why the journaling and restructuring of our negative statements into realistic believable ones help. It restructures our focus, changes how we think, and takes some repetition, so it doesn't usually happen over night. I would suggest stay with it and keep an open mind. Resistance will come up but you can work through this.

I am sure we have all been there before. You are not alone in this. I was really bad, I felt alone, pissed off, hopeless, and I contemplated suicide at one point.

One of the biggest things here is to realize that you can't change the way the world is, or what other people do, but you can change yourself and how you react to everything. You can change the decisions you make, and your life as you know it. Every minute is a chance to start over.

Life is what you make of it, and you know the old saying 'you get what you give'. You have to want it, and you have to want to change. Make no mistake about it, this program is difficult, in different ways to different people. Just remember this, there is no such thing as failure.

P.S. Are you sure that your negative attitude towards the program isn't just your anxiety speaking for you? Take charge and tell your anxiety to shut it!
